Poured half for myself after using part in my Beef Carbonnade. Really has that Unibroue yeast character, and a lot of it. Hazy orange-brown pour with a 2 finger head that settles quickly and leaves no lace. Candi sugar, yeasty, with a good bit of carbonation.

Yeast and sour aroma. Cloudy brown color with a medium tan head. Light bitter beginning with a light fruity and sweet finish.

In the bomber bottle from Beertopia. Pours a dark gold to light amber with a big foaminess that quickly dissipates to a thin white head. Has a candy marzipan aroma. Palate is very fizzy. The flavor is quite belgian with candy sweetness and medicinal overtones. Nothing remarkable other than that.

Bottle. Pours a hazy orange body with an off white head. Spicy body with pepper, spicy yeast tones, earth and a modest warming. Etoh latent fruits honey, pine, some citrus tones. A nice ale.

aroma is bananas and apricots with a doughy yeast smell. Thick, foamy white head. Cloudy amber in color. Thick mouthfeel. Flavor is bitter dark fruits. Too bitter for my taste.

Bottled (thanks omhper!). Amber colour, small slightly off-white head. Aroma is spices, caramel malts, sugary and mild alcohol. Flavour is rather sweet sugar, some mild spices, and yeast and some nectar. Rather sweet, but also shows a more wooden side that probably has come with aging this beauty.

Bottled (BB 12/2009)
Amber color, small white head, some lace. Orange, watermelon, and other fruits in the aroma, some yeast too. Fruity (mango, waterrmelon, orange peels), some toffee. Nice, balanced Belgian ale. Some earthy notes.

Pours hazy golden with a large frothy tan colored head. Lemon, pear and clove in the aroma. Taste is initially a bit sour but quickly becomes heavy sweet and light bitter. Medium to full bodied. Syrupy. Alcoholic finish. (Bottle, courtesy of tarjei 12.12.2009)
