juiceisloose (3847) - Windermere, Florida, USA - SEP 22, 201812oz bottle from October 2016. Pours nearly pitch black in color and topped by a very small tan colored head of foam that recedes quickly and rejoins the body below. The aroma is nice and shows notes of dark chocolate, toasted caramel, roasted coffee, rolled oats, and some soft milk chocolate with just a hint of bitterness as well. The flavor follows suit with notes of dark and sweet milk chocolate, toasted caramel, light roasted coffee, dark roasty malts, and soft balancing bitterness on the back end. Medium bodied and silky smooth with soft carbonation that leads to a bitter sweet dark chocolate and roasted coffee finish. The coffee has faded some, but this has held up extremely well. Really tasty and solid imperial porter. Great stuff as usual from Tyranena even tough most people don’t seek them out.
balloonbuffoon (1125) - - JAN 9, 201812floz bottle, BOD: 10.12.2017, $2.75 single, large stem glass. Appears black-brown in color with a thin brown head. The aroma does not overpower with woody chocolatiness. The palate is full, silky, and has coffee, toffee, and dark chocolate flavors. I've enjoyed this one other time about ten years ago, and it is just as good now as it was then.
