| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 6, 2006 Pours near black with ruby hues and a thin light brown head. Aroma of dark bread, light caramel, and plums. Taste is caramelized maltiness, complex vinous and toasted notes. Notes of roast, molasses, and dark fruitiness. A bit surprising from a lager. Finishes slighly smoky with a subdued bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium-bodied with a slight stickiness and smooth carbonation. A great dunkel. MrBunn (1645), Western, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Dec 3, 2008 Bottle. Pours a dark brown with a medium-sized tan head. Aromas are a little bit chocolaty with dark malt and a kind of dusty air. Flavor starts with a little bit of an annoying sweet darkness, which yields to an earthy peat phase before finishing watery. This is OK, but not great. hellbilly (1643), scottsdale über alles, Arizona, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 12, 2008 Bottle. Pours a clear dark brown with a thick light tan head. Aroma of chocolate and roasted malts. Flavor of light roasted malts with a sweet finish. Light bodied. This beer has some slight lager like characteristics, but it is more like a light porter than a dunkel. It is pretty good though.
