A darkish brown transparent color with an almond head. Aroma is sweet, nutty malty. Body is bitter, thin and has a definite raison flavor to it. Decent brew indeed must one who is I say.

Bottle. Pours a clear dark brown with a thin beige head. Loads of sweet caramel with some sweet stone fruit and an odd vanilla soap note. A touch on the thin side of medium, some faint roast and malt. Finishes with a bit of sweetness and some light acrid bitterness. Meh.

Pours near black with ruby hues and a thin light brown head. Aroma of dark bread, light caramel, and plums. Taste is caramelized maltiness, complex vinous and toasted notes. Notes of roast, molasses, and dark fruitiness. A bit surprising from a lager. Finishes slighly smoky with a subdued bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium-bodied with a slight stickiness and smooth carbonation. A great dunkel.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown with a medium-sized tan head. Aromas are a little bit chocolaty with dark malt and a kind of dusty air. Flavor starts with a little bit of an annoying sweet darkness, which yields to an earthy peat phase before finishing watery. This is OK, but not great.

bottle from beerbill. dark cherry stained wood colored beer with a small light tan head. aroma is mostly malt with hints of yeast, coffee and some smokiness. the flavor is lightly sweet and malty with notes of a strange fruitiness and grassy hops. it gets acidic toward the finish and leaves a banana like aftertaste. light to medium body, crisp texture and a watery mouth feel. really rather uninteresting.

Bottle. Pours a clear dark brown with a thick light tan head. Aroma of chocolate and roasted malts. Flavor of light roasted malts with a sweet finish. Light bodied. This beer has some slight lager like characteristics, but it is more like a light porter than a dunkel. It is pretty good though.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown body with nice size head. Very nice sweet malty aroma, slight candy essence noticed as well. Flavor is sweet with malt, smooth, light mouthfeel with a touch of smokiness going on in there. Nice dunkel.

Barrel Aged on draft @ NEBF. Pours a bubbly black color with a small, fizzy tanish head. Nose is nice and sweet, hints of vanilla and malt, some dark fruits and a slight doughiness. Taste is vanilla and coconut, some light alcohol warmth and taste there, bourbon, a full finish with some good malt and a touch of the doughiness.
