On draught at the brewery tap room in Lake Mills, Wisconsin. Pours a semi-clear brownish caramel brew with a thin off-white head that quickly dissolves to a fine film and white ring. Aroma of sweet caramel malt, a slight smoked peat, some milk chocolate, and a touch of maple syrup. Taste is medium bodied, light carbonation with flavors of sweet caramel malt, some maple syrup, peat and a touch of mild earth herbs. Finish is smooth, creamy, mild bitterness with a semi-sweet caramel and peat aftertaste.

On Tap at brewery. Pours a clear dark caramel color. The head is a light and thin creamy color. Aromas of malt, caramel, and earthy scents. First sip. Smooth, Flavor of chocolate and caramal malts. Sweet flavors mixed with the malts and mild earthy flavors to finish. Mouth feel is what one would expect of an ale. Very good. I might get me a growler next time I stop in.

On tap at Tyranena. Poured a rather clear deep chocolatey-caramel with about zero head sticking around. Aroma picked up sweet toasted darker malts with plenty of nice peaty accents.. soft and seductive, yet with strong undercurrents.. very nice! Flavor was of rich peat-laden semi-sweet chocoalate with increasing toasted caramel presence as it approached the back-end.. longish sweet, mild herbally bitter finish with a touch of smoke.. darker fruits pop up as well at the finish. Medium-bodied with a very enjoyable flow and finish. Really liked this!

Lightly chill hazed light chestnut colored liquid. Smallish, but stable heavy cream colored head. Sweet aromas of fresh malt, with some toast and caramel. Flavors of light toffee, dark chocolate and a hint of peat and graham crackers. Simple, but still well stated. They seem to continue to work on this one, and I think they are getting closer, albeit I really liked the last peated version.

Mapley ,caramel and malt wort in the aroma, you can smell that this is sweet, taste is heavy on the toffee, caramel, and a hint of peat. And yes it is sweet, this is a perfect brew to have right after an IPA,the big emphasis,on malt sweetness is such a beautiful contrast to the hop bitterness

10th Annual Mid*Winter Brewfest. The beer pours to an unfiltered mahogany body that has a thin white head sitting on top. The aroma is sweet. Lightly peated powdered sugar. The flavor is sweet powdered sugar and has a light butterscotch/toffee characteristic to it. Seems only so-so. The aroma also has subtle chocolates and grains. The palate is moderately bodied. Average at best. Definitely NOT the delicious Wee Heavy. 6, 4, 6, 3, 12 = 3.1

Rerate at Tyranena. It seems this beer has gotten much better with age. Pours to a deep mahogany/chestnut body. Transparent this time. Creamy white head and awesome lacing. The flavor is sweet powdered sugar and chocolate malt. Nicely smoked peat malt comes through well. The aroma is peaty barley and a dash of chocolate. The palate is sweet, nutty, and light. Well balanced. Time has done this beer well.
