Commercial Description:
Deep burnished gold with a slight haze, Le Fleur Misseur opens with pineapple, clove and honey notes. Dry-hopping produces a flower leaf aroma supported by tones of fresh bread and honey. Le Fleur finishes dry and slightly herbal. Produced for New Belgium coworkers to celebrate our 15th anniversary, Le Fleur has roots in the earliest days of our history. In 1988 founder Jeff Lebesch sat weary on the side of a Belgian road when a young lad passing by picked a delicate yellow flower and offered it to Jeff. “Le Fleur, Misseur?” Jeff misspelled the boy’s comment in his journal as he accepted the offering. A treasured memory, a beer to treasure. Brewed in honor of the New Belgium’s 15th anniversary. It is a tip of the hat to Orval.

22oz bottle from the Wine and Cheese Shop. Pours a cloudy pale yellow with a frothy white head, great lacing. Nose start off with a good amount of citrus peel and Brett, followed by some underlying funk and more citrus. Flavor is Bretty but not overdone, citrusy and dry. Another good one from NB.

Bottle: The aroma consists of yeast, honey, grains, herbs, and faint floral and grass notes. It pours a transparent gold with a large white head. The flavor starts with honey and yeast. The finish is lightly grainy with some hints of grass, herbs, and the slightest touch of lemon. Medium bodied with soft carbonation and mouthfeel.

Bottle (shared with Tweety)... Poured pale, straw, golden with a thin, white head. A very light beer with not much going on. Not offensive, but not very interesting. Got a sense of herbal, floral tones and a light malt quality.

Slightly hazy pale yellow/orange, thick frothy sticky white head. Aroma is moderately sweet, lemonhead candy, floral, crisp citrus and a slight yeast funk. Taste is wheaty with citrus and lemon rind and general yeast spiciness. Medium body with a good effervescence and an earthy bitter finish. Very nice stuff.

Pours a muted golden color with a small, thin, white head. It has a very dry, spicy flavor with some herbal notes, and a definite funk in the finish. Very good beer, definitely will get again.

Hazy golden color with a medium sized, white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of toffee malts, bread, citrus, earthy yeast, hay, and vanilla. Taste of citrus fruits, vanilla, earthy yeast, orange peel, light honey, and a dry finish.
