aroma of coffee, salted crackers with a touch of dark chocolate. the flavour has a ton of coffee, within some nice chocolate and some roasted notes. the backend is strangely sour with little hops. palate is watery.

650ml bottle via trade with Beer Mountie! - Thanks Tony! - pours dark brown with a medium creamy offwhite head. Aroma is very light roast and coffee. Flavor is quite watered down coffee with a little chocolate and caramel. Quite sour on the finish. Light bodied and pretty acidic. Dry finish and a lingering sour aftertaste. I really wasn’t too fond of this one.

Bottle shared with Jerc, Blankboy, Hogtown Harry, and GregClow, Greg’s bottle. Deep dark brown, small bubbly white head. Weird yet nice coffee / oily aroma - lots of rich cocoa; gets nicer as it warms. Taste is very watery. There is an interesting coffee / cocoa taste her, but man, is it ever watered down. Not bad at all and better than the ratings here suggest.

Bottle shared with HogTownHarry, GregClow, jerc & tupalev -- courtesy of GregClow. Pours a dark ruby-brown with a small diminishing off-white head. Nice roasty aroma with caramel, nuts and chocolate. Watery flavour of roasted malt with some chocolate and coffee. Thin bodied. Decent enough and underrated in my opinion.

Bottle (650ml). Shared with blankboy, GregClow, jerc and tupalev - GregClow’s bottle. Poured cloudy reddish-brown with a small tan diminishing head. Dark roasty aroma, nuts with stale acidic coffee, some cola and sugary molasses - not bad! Taste is a little thin and sour - dishwatery - light roast, hint of sour fruit, quite disappointing. Thin of body, watery, acidic and fairly harsh - not awful, but I’ve have worse.

Bottle shared with blankboy, jerc, HogTownHarry & tupalev. Dark ruby-brown with a small tan head. Slightly sour coffee and mild chocolate aroma. Body is lighter than expected from the style. Flavour is OK - hints of roasted coffee and baker’s chocolate, with a dry, astringent finish. Needs a bit more body, but it’s not too bad.

Dark brown colour, diminishing fizzy tan head. Light chocolate and coffee aroma. Roasty coffee and chocolate flavours with an underlying astringent acidity. Light bodied, dry.

Dark brown colour. Nutty, clean coffeeish aroma. Light body. A bit tart in the finish. Mainly coffee-flavoured. Not a whole lot of malt...a bit thin.
