Commercial Description:
Bitterhed: 81 IBU

English: When poured into the glass you will instantly sense that Hr. Frederiksen is a gentleman with both potency and a huge personality. Dark as Hr. Frederiksen’s humour, this imperial stout is inspired by the American imperial stouts with its dense and creamy light brown head that leaves nice lacings in the glass while the head reluctantly dissipates. We are willing to admit that we went crazy with the malts in this beer. A massive 8 different types of malts were used, and it is the dark and heavily roasted ones that give the beer its colour and almost extreme full body - this is almost a meal in a bottle. The bitterness is also delivered by the heavily roasted malts backed up by the American Centennial hops. Oh yes, Hr. Frederiksen is an experience which should be enjoyed slowly, but in return he will last all night warming you with his alcohol and challenging charm.
We have named this beer after a good friend, without whom, Amager Bryghus would not be what it is today.
Bitterness: 81 IBU

yeah this is good shit! Pours almost a black color with a really nice tan head. Aroma is roasty and toasty with tons of chocolate, espresso and a bit of smoke. Flavor is loaded with bittersweet chocolate, prunes, roasted malt and finishes with a very satisfying bitterness. Damn nice.

Colore nero profondo,schiuma marrone e spessa.Aroma di malto tostato,cioccolato frutta scura e sentore di affumicato.Il gusto è comparabile all’aroma solo con più cioccolato e caffè.Sapori netti.Lievemente alcoolico il finale.Eccellente!

rbesg08 grand tasting, bottled. my palate was slightly impaired by this stage of the day, but this was tasty enough to make an impression. black with a steady light brown head, loads of roasted flavours - coffee, cocoa and burnt toast with some stewed pear sweetness, very bitter finish, excellent stuff

From X-mas package sent by Papsoe (thanks), shared with Doggythedog.
Pours a deep black colour with medium sized brown head and milk chocolate nose. Strong chicory, roasted coffee and dark chocolate taste with salty and alcohol notes. Strong bitter aftertaste.

Deep black in colour, average sized tan coloured head, great lacing. The aroma was of dark chocolate, roasted malts, light alcohol, chalky, light smoke, lightly sweet. The flavour is of chocolate, some coffee, quite roasty but at the same time quite smooth, creamy turning bitter. Highly bitter malty mouthfeel, medium/large body, medium carbonation. Finishes long, lots of chocolate, chalky, very bitter. Very big, intense, roasty. Definitely packs a punch.

500ml bottle obtained in trades with <a href=http://www.ratebeer.com/ViewUser.asp?U target=blank>TheCheeseMan, and <a href=http://www.ratebeer.com/ViewUser.asp?U target=blank>MPA. Thanks Dan and Mads-Peter.

A black apperance with a nice tan head. The aroma contains a bit of alcohol along with some chocolate, coffee, dark fruit, and licorice. Some smoke up in the nose. The flavor is quite sweet and warming. It contains some chocolate, coffee, raisins, licorice, and molasses. My only complaint is the alcohol is very apparent. The finish is somewhat bitter. Overall a nice dessert beer!

Pitch black color with a medium tan head. Aroma of coffee, very dark chocolate, light oak and some vanilla. Extremely chalky mouthfeel and taste. French Roast-level coffee. Powerfully bitter, being a mix of coffee, roasted barley and hops. It struck me as sea-ish. If you think of how you can tell a Scotch was aged by the sea, same thing applies here.
