Doughy, lemony yeasts give way to some sweeter citrus aromas. The same scene is played out in the flavor with some bready sourdough leading into a fruity, mildly bitter finish of hopcit. Crisp. Not bad.

The aroma is malty, the flavors are sweet hi-lighting caramel. This is very sweet and smooth. Good stuff and it’s made here in my city. mikehanneman (4), Alabama, USA does not count | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 8, 2009 Brewed in Lexington, KY, this is a decent tasting ale. I buy it when I see my son in Louisville. The label says "handcrafted in sixty-barrel batches". I think it is a solid tasting local beer. I have had better, but I never regret picking up a six pack. Not too expensive at about a dollar a bottle. RSRIZZO (1378), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Oct 29, 2009 From a 12oz. bottle poured into a English Pint at 42°. Color is gold with just a touch of orange and good carbonation yet almost no head. Aroma is a light scent of malt with a little caramel showing. Taste is soft and sweet. Starting with light/medium body it goes down easy with a smooth feel. Finish is a mildly sweet malty taste of caramel, honey and apple with just a hint of bitterness. After taste is clean as the flavors drop leaving a faint sweetness lingering. This is an easy drinking clean brew, it just has no Amber qualities to it. I think some reviewers on here may have confused this with the Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale, which is a different beer. Clear golden-amber in color with a small white head. Aroma is caramel, grain, and mild floral hops. Flavor is caramel and pale malt, only slightly sweet, light spices, and some Noble hops that mostly contribute to the bittering. Palate is fairly light with medium carbonation. Overall pretty average. TimE (1406), Tokyo, Japan
