Commercial Description:
Nothing beats kicking back on the deck at the cabin and taking in a classic Manitoba sunset. Our Hefeweizen captures that jovial atmosphere with a hazy golden body from a blend of wheat, two-row pale, and Munich malts. German grown Hallertau hops balance the fruity wheat malts with a light, spicy character. Finally, a burst of banana and clove aromas fill the air due the specially selected yeast culture. Try it with a light meal of grilled bratwurst, hot mustard, and potato salad. Serve at 6 C. in a tall Weizen glass. Bottle will contain sediment – which should be poured into the beer. 13 IBU

It’s not summertime without a good Hefeweizen. A bit hazy with a bit less bite than typical wheat beers. Banana and vanilla notes with mild spiciness. A bit more substantial mouthfeel than mainstream hefe beers. Excellent beer!

Golden-orange, large white head, good lacing. Aroma is of bubblegum, wheat, sweet, yeast, orange citrus. Flavour is yeasty, orange, lightly bitter, light spice, perfume, floral. Lightly bitter mouthfeel, medium/light body, moderate carbonation. Finishes soft, some sweetness.

Quite refreshing, soft, clean and straight forward.

341ml bottle obtained in a trade with Piscator34, thanks Kris.

341 ml bottle from MBLC Liquor Mart in Winnipeg, MB, sampled 6/26/08. Hazy orange amber colour with a mostly diminishing fizzy off-white head. Banana, citrus, and lightly spicy aroma. Lemon, banana, and clove flavours with a lemony, lightly acidic, and dry bitter finish. Light bodied, fizzy, but refreshing. I certainly wouldn’t complain if I had a locally made weizen like this in NS.

341ml bottle courtesy of Tommy84. Pours a very hazy orange-amber with almost zero head. Aroma is indeed highly of banana but also of unpleasant vinegar. Flavor is that of a typical stronger hefeweizen, toss in a little apricot and honey. A decent beer but not one that I’ll be reminicing of.

341ml bottle. Standard hefe aroma. Banana, clove, malted wheat. Predictable but inoffensive. Pours a hazy dark gold with plenty of sediment and a nice sized bright white head. Flavor is a little more aggressive and grainy than what I’m used to in a hefe. Some lemon zest tartness, bread dough. Mostly sweet with a toasty finish. Medium bodied with a mild astringent finish. Thanks Scott!

341ml bottle.
Pours a nice hazy amber orange with a small white head that fades to a small layer of foam. Smells like lemons, yeast, banana, coriander and some floral notes too. The sweet flavour of doughy wheat and spices finishes off on a lightly bitter and sugary taste that hangs around the back of the mouth for a while. Good stuff.

A hazy orange amber ale with a thin white head. A sweet banana solvent aroma with caramel and nuts. In mouth, a lightly sweet weizen with good cloves, a bit lighter than expected, with some unpleasant astringence in final. Bottle from Piscator32. Tasted Summer 2007.

Bottle via trade with piscator34. Colour is reddish-copper - much darker than I expect from a hefe - with a slight haze. Aroma is toasty and a bit fruity, with a faint hint of spice. Thin body. Flavour of caramel malt, notes of wheat and faint banana. Not really on style, but not bad.
