Commercial Description:
Double-Wide I.P.A. uses Columbus and Magnum hops for both bittering and aroma with Chinook hops added in the whirlpool. It is dry hopped with generous amounts of Cascade, Bravo, Centennial, and Chinook hops. The resulting beer has a hop forward aroma, redolent of peach and apricot. The assertive flavor bursts with the citrus qualities of blood orange and lemon with a slight caramel malt backbone to balance the intense hop flavor. There is little restraint in the flavor of this beer; it is certainly not for the pedestrian palate.

(bottle) Pours a clear, dark yellow color. Off -white head - spare lacing. Hoppy aroma with hints of citrus (orange). Slick texture, average duration, moderately bitter finish.

750 ml bottle served in a tulip. Murky radiant amber-orange in color with a large pillowy light beige head. Good retention and lovely fluffy lacing. Interesting apricot, spice, and sweet caramel on the nose. Caramel flavor. Medium-full body, thick-creamy mouthfeel, mild carbonation, and a lingering bitterness on the finish. Big malts dominate this one, but the hops are evident on the fruity nose and bitter finish. We have a winner.

Bottle from Crown #6. Pours murky reddish/brown with thick, bubbly white head. Nose is strong hops of the dry/pine variety. Flavor is smooth dry, earthy, piney hops that come through well due to a good malt backing. Not bad at all.

Pours a hazy mahogany-copper with a large white head. The aroma has juicy citrus, with a strong peppery and piney character you would expect from Magnum and Chinook. The flavor is very well done with a nice mix of flavors and good balance. Some apricot and caramel come though that weren’t noticed in the aroma. The finish is bitter with some lingering sweetness and fruit. Medium, lightly oily body with soft carbonation. Nice Double IPA. Not excessive, but extremely enjoyable.

750 ml. Poured a golden yellow/orange color with a huge frothy white head that died down to 1 finger head. The nose is pine, caramel malt, grass, pineapple, and lemon zest. The taste hits you up front with a big bitter hop taste, followed by a sweet caramel malt, and finishes with a dry and deliciously bitter hop taste. The palate is medium and very refreshing for an iipa. This is my 3rd favorite iipa behind pliny younger and elder. Great job boulevard!

Lacking a hoppy character for a double IPA. Very low IBU rating, and tended to overcompensate for this with a higher ABV. Drinkable, but lacking.

75 cl bottle, Fargo, ND, USA. Sheffield celebration. Hazy deep copper colour, frothy head with sweet pine and grass aroma, some faint nuttiness in the background. Quite carbonated, settles sweetly into the cheeks then a very nice bitterness that deepens for 10 or 15 seconds. Very nice, not overly brutal just an enjoyable sample for the style.

A hazy red-orange pour with a large off-white head. It has a very hoppy aroma filled with pine, grapefruit, and some alcohol. This medium body brew has a slick texture initially, but finishes dry. The bitterness hits you right up front, then fades into a light caramel sweetness, and then comes back strong and bitter in the long finish.
