| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Mar 9, 2010 $2.49 22Oz. - I think I got the right beer here; the label reads " Sapporo "imported" Premium Beer. I thought this beer was only sold in the oddly shaped 22oz variety. I wanted to rate this one because it will definitely be the only Japanese beer I will ever rate. What’s to say? Could be any of our domestic swill here in the states. Yes, it’s poor quality, but you already knew that, but I rated a Japanese beer! Sorta worth it.
Note: the 220z can is indestructible! Just try crushing it! JoeAgain (40), New Jersey, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Feb 27, 2010 Pours a tawney-golden color, with a small, short lasting head. Light malt and fruitiness in the nose. Light, cereal grain flavor, with a good bit of grass-like hop flavor, and light bitterness.
Though of Japanese pedigree, this beer is shipped from Canada, where it is made. You’ll know that only by looking closely at the label.
I’ve had the beer when it was produced in Japan, and it was slightly lighter - and cleaner - in taste. This one’s not a bad effort, and would certainly go well with Japanese or Chinese fare. beernbourbon (446), chicago, Illinois, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Feb 27, 2010 Bottle. Pour is straw with a thin white head. Aroma is malty with a touch of floral hops and yeast. Flavor is similar and pretty thin. Not great, but easy drinkin with sushi. JW32Hoops (34), San Diego, USA
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Feb 19, 2010 22oz bottle poured into pint glass at PB Sushi. Pours a fizzy yellow with minimal head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is akin to any other low grade beer you’ve ever smelled. Carbonated water, yeast and barley hit the palate...tastes like a better version of Miller Lite. Best enjoyed with decadent sushi rolls so the meal can be the star and the beer knows it’s role. If you’re not expecting greatness, you won’t be disappointed. basspro76 (267), New York, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Feb 18, 2010 Drank this from a glass bottle poured into a tall pint glass at Hatsuhana, NYC. Pours a crystal yellow color with heavy carbonation. Mouthful is refreshing with the carbonation leading the way to a dry, yeasty flavor. Not something I would drink on a regular basis but it paired well with sushi. womencantsail (537), San Dimas, California, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 15, 2010 A: Sapporo pours a light golden color with small bubbles and a fluffy white head.
S: A sweet malt scent which I generally don’t expect from this style. An overall light aroma is indicative of the rice that is used. The lager yeast make themselves known as well.
T: Better than the nose, but that’s really saying too much. There is a substantial (for the style) malt flavor. A crispness is contributed by the adjuncts, but they help out the beer. Again, the lager yeast are present.
M: Very, very light in body and fairly bubbly.
D: This is, of course, a very drinkable beer. That is what it is designed to be. I’m not really a fan of the style nor a huge fan of the beer in particular, but it’s okay to drink one or two with a Japanese meal. TheBeerOrg (1672), Kentucky, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 7/20 | Feb 6, 2010 22oz can. Pours yellow with a fully receding white head. Notes of metallic lager yeast, acidic pale malt, cereal, herbal hop. Thin bodied with lively carbonation. A passable pale lager, no flaws but not really enjoyable.
