pours eerily clear orange-yellow, with about a finger of white, rapidly dissipating head. Smells like macro beer--no hops or malts, just...corn? poor quality beer? Taste is dominated with a hint of the alcohol with a corn finish, and a slightly bitter aftertaste. This was the best beer in the world in 1893, because in 1893 most beers gave you cholera. Drink it over busch/miller/bud, but if its not in a red plastic cup, what is wrong with you?

Great for a cheap beer. Not my first choice, but after Rolling Rock I would choose this in a heartbeat. Love the taste. Strong alcohol and corn taste.

a good old time beer use to drink this alot because it was cheap and its sold everywhere in the area not my first choice of beer however

Wretch. America’s best in 1893, and downhill ever since. At least it’s better than Bud. No need to waste a glass on this one.

Good stuff but not for people who prefer sweet beers. It’d hard to find where I live so it is a treat when I do get it.

This beer tastes terrible. I mean TERRIBLE! It has this horrible metallic taste. Just awful!

Among the best flavor of the megabrews, nutty finish and with the can, an occasional aluminum flavor. Bottles are smoother and go down easy (and for some reason have poker card suits/numbers on them... anyone know why?). My choice among the big guys. Also a good palate cleanser between good beers. Still a decent beer with a very bad rep.
