Commercial Description:
Summit Extra Pale Ale is not a beer brewed only for beer snobs. Just the opposite. It’s a beer for everyone to enjoy: construction workers, stock brokers, farmers, sales people, clerks, teachers, lawyers, doctors, even other brewers. Its light bronze color and distinctly hoppy flavor have made it a favorite in St. Paul, Minneapolis and the rest of the Upper Midwest ever since we first brewed it back in 1986.

Bronze/Honey appearance, spicy malt aroma, heavy on the malt and hops. Finish is decidedly hoppy.

Tap. An everyman’s pale ale. Light copper color with a white head that dissipates quickly. Light hoppy nose. Medium hop flavor that is a little overbalanced with the malt. Not bad, though, just not exceptional.

Nice light citrus and grass hop aroma to it with a mild hop flavor. I like the light grain malt character of this beer too. Good stuff... not great but very good. I often find that a bar/restaurant will have loads of crap on tap and then there is Summit EPA. I think I’ll have that.

The color is a light golden brown with a light hoppy aroma. It’s a little light which brings down the flavor.

Pours pristine amber w/ thick creamy of-white head, aroma is heavy malt w/ some alcohol, thin bodied and bitter w/ no trace of the malt sweetness, overwhelming cookie/bread crust flavor and FAR too much carbonation

Bottle shared by jogringo. Pour is clear copper with a thin white head. Aroma is lots of caramel malt and light pine hop. A bit more malt character than expected. Flavor is also quite malty with a hint of pine hops in the middle. Finish is quite malty; it’s actually a really nice malt flavor, but the hops are a background flavor here. It tastes an awful lot like a slightly more hoppy Marzen.

Nice, hoppy bitterness to it. Awfully clear and thin. Could be a little more substantive.

Some yeasty malt and citrus aroma. Clear copper/orange in color. Clean malt flavor with citrusy hops notes at the end. Definitely a nice oily mouth feel on the tongue. Overall a good very solid and drinkable pale ale.

Easy drinking like a light Sierra Nevada, really simple and well made, good value too, grass, spruce, light floral, light sweetness, lightly bitter, pale bronze color, clear, minimal head, light body, fizzy, light bitter finish
