come on I didn’t think this was too bad at all. It had nice carbonation, decent taste and went down smooth. Drank out of a long neck in a bar, wasn’t watery or thin like I expected. trace of hops on the finish.

Sweet Jesus this is bad. Much worse than I remember. About the mid-80’s I used to buy this stuff. What the hell was I thinking? Was this that bad then? Or is it just worse now that Miller is brewing this?

Bottle. Pours clear yellow with a thin white head. The nose is malt and light grassy hops. The taste is malt, a touch of skunk, light grain and grassy hops in the finish. Lighter mouthfeel. Not great, but it paired nicely with a cup of Italian wedding soup and onion and butter perogies I had it with.

A light pale lager, pours a clear pale gold with a quickly fading white head, lots of carbonation, aromas of malt and some corn, faint malt sweetness on the nose, flavors of some malt and corn, mouth feel is thin, lots of carbonation to give a bite on the tongue.

Once a great Detroit staple I had to try it being a Detroiter myself. Pours a pale gold color with a short-lived, small white head. Typical pale lager straw and corn aroma but with some actually detectable hops and a soapy citrusy like quality but not horribly offensive. The flavor is sweet corn and that’s pretty much it. Watery thin body with lots of carbonation. Nothing much to speak of here but I have had much worse.

Back in the day, when I was stationed in Indiana for a brief spell Stroh’s touted itself as "America’s only fire brewed beer." It’s a claim which could not be made today, but the beer is very much like I remembered it to be. Light grassy-hop nose, with some honeyish undertones. Light bodied, pretty good hops for a beer like this, with some light malt in support. Stroh’s is what it is; an inexpensive, not very impressive beer, but a fine companion when you just want a beer that’s light and refreshing.

Can courtesy of dkachur on 06/09/09. Very clear pale yellow body with a large rocky white head. Big corn and stale grain aroma. Big corn, cereal and stale grain flavor. Medium light body with moderately high carbonation.
