Generous white frothy head produces decent lacing. The aroma is very spicey, herby, grassy. there’s loads of quality hops in here. The flavour continues to deliver with more spices and herbs, sweet lemon citrus, with a suprising grapefruity backend that mixed extremely well with the bitterness. There are touches of caramel and honey in there. It’s complex! Very smooth palate, with slight fizz beside the bitter hops, biting at your tongue and cheeks.

Pours a crystal clear, amber red-orange, with a one finger creamy white head. Aroma was of floral hops, strong caramel malts, resin, and outstanding pine notes. Perfect aroma. Palate is light and smooth. Perfect feel. Taste is hops, sour orange, Small pine notes, and the caramel malt back bone balances the hop resin undertones perfectly. Overall a very tasty, perfectly balanced session beer. A gem amongst IPA’s. Spab (345), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 4, 2010 355 ml bottle from LCBO. Pours a fairly clear gold with good-sized white head, decent retention. Aroma is big on citrus and resiny hops with solid caramel presence too. Taste has a bit of breadiness before big citric/resiny hops take over and give a long, bitter finish. Very nice. BavarianPurity (15), Tempe, Arizona, USA

look: 4.5 smell: 4.5 taste: 4.5 feel: 3.5 drink: 4
rDev: +6.9%
Appearance: big and bold; rushing bubbling, straw-coloured and so fourth, in a nice pint which had earlier been used to make a rather ingenious tisane with chopped raisins and Black Plum tea.
Smell: a labour of love.
Taste: quintessentially, the easiest and most luxuriant of any IPA I’ve ever tasted, tried or readily desired; Haverhill’s IPA tears a hole in your tongue, and Stone’s Ruination IPA leaves you wondering where the excitement is, but this truly is a necessity of natural spirituous consumption. Finally Sam Calagione and compnay have done it: created, concocted, bottled and distributed an approachable beer... although I can’t say as much for their 120; yikes!
Mouthfeel: thin, and peeling, but has a warming acidity and isn’t too jumbling alcoholic. Take a bow, Dogfish!
Drinkability: Oh, couldn’t put it down!

Citrus and floral with a bold hop character. Bit of a sweet caramel malt with pine hop notes. Likable and a great session beer, abv hops and malts blend well. beerledgend (928), Waterloo, Wellington, New Zealand

Complex hop flavours which is overpowering but well balanced with malt. Love it :) Teege (203), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 25, 2010 Pours a pale yellow/orange. Good piny nose, some grapefruit, and resin. The flavor is hoppy but not overwhelmingly so as it is nicely balanced with the malt. Slacks (531), Bolton, Ontario, Canada
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 24, 2010 12 oz Bottle: How have I not rated this? Now a standard find here in Ontario I’m shocked that I haven’t rated it yet. No worries, gave me a reason to crack one open. Pours light amber, very nice foamy white head, great lacing. Aroma offers lots of floral and citrus from what promises to be a good dose of hops. Balanced with toffee and caramel, and sour orange. First sip is initially bread and orange before quickly making way for those hops. The gang’s all here with some citrus and pine notes, backed with a sharp, peppery bite likely provided by a combination of all those hops and the thin streams of light carbonation making their way up. Great beer, great IPA. strongpieman (25), Maryland, USA
