This dark vienna-munich type beer has had extraordinary acceptance in international markets. Exports to the U.S. began in the early 80´s, and have since attained great success in Europe, Australia, Central and South America.

An average vienna style lager. Nothing overly complex about it, usually I’ll have one when out for Tex-Mex. It has just enough flavor to make it worth having.

Bottle pour. Looks almost like cola in glass. Small nose that is a pinch metallic. Basic Vienna malts. Good Mex option. Nothing special, but nothing wrong.

Hard to believe I haven’t rated before but not often on draft. Draft from Hernandez in Delavan....medium brown with minimal head. Some hints of caramel with decent body...goes well with the shrimp fajitas having here...

A decent dark lager not too bad better with a lime like to buy with a Mexican style dinner

This is a solid solid beer. Mild but with a nice roasted corn taste. Light for a brown beer. Deep and flavorful for a pale beer.

Bottle courtesy of a Romanian friend (many thanks luttonm for having advised me). Dark mahogany color, mini and quickly disappearing ivory head. Clear. Nose of chestnut honey, malts, baked cookies. Not bad! Mouth: high carbonation, watery feel, syrup, caramel. A bit disappointing for otherwise e decent macro amber lager. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a dark brown with an offwhite head. Average feathering. Almost zilcho aroma (maybe a bit of wet leather in there?). Flavors of root beer with a metallic undertone. Definite metallic palate. Quite aqueous. Average beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottled (5,3%) and Tap. I’ve had both with negligible differences outside of a SLIGHT increase in fizz/head. Color: Amber, dark, as expected from the name Negra. Head: White, not super large, disappears a bit quickly. Aroma: Roasted malts, caramel, yep it’s an Amber Lager. Flavour: Moderately Sweet with a roasty hoppy background. Not bad at all. Palate: Unexpectedly hop with a proper but bare burn. Slight alcohol detection. For a Mexican restaurant, this is your best choice. No need for that quintessential lime like most of the other beers from this company. Good for hotter food. Definitely a solid summer brew.

does not compete with spicy food and is best from the tap. bottle version is much blander and over carbonated.
