| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Mar 4, 2010 bottle-pours dark yellow hazy with a huge foamy white head. tells me this is a bit oxidized. a huge banana nose with clove and bubble gum. a banana bomb? could be labeled as such. bigtime carbonation and lots of esters. bodys big, but the huge amount of carbonation hinders the posiblities of this beer. A very one-dimensional beer which i enjoy, but nothing like the copper kettle or other hefe they used to make. however, i must have to try this beer fresh or on tap sometime. deyholla (947), Bloomington, Indiana, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Feb 8, 2010 A bright golden orange with a soft white head. Clove ginger and cinnamon are abundant in the nose. The combination of sweet fruit, banana, apple, sweet lemon and clove greet the taste buds on the first sip. This is a very complex mixture of the fruit and spice that left me wanting more. I am glad I have more; also need to save some for the next tasting. johnnyoski (178), Macomb, Michigan, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 30, 2010 Bottle. Light amber color with a fizzy off white head. Aroma is dominated by banana and cloves with a hint of bubblegum. Flavor is more malty then expected, with tones of banana and yeast and an herbal, clove taste in the finish. Medium-light body with perfect carbonation. This stuff goes down dangerously quick for over a brew thats over 7%abv. pete4999 (214), Buffalo, New York, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 13/20 | Jan 27, 2010 Bottle courtesy of decoman from TBS. Thanks! Pours a nice gold with a fizzy white head. Very bubbly, nice lacing. Smells of citrus - grapefruit and lemon - with a bit of an earthy feel to it. Taste is crisp and light, but sharp. Goes down very easy, would be great in the summertime rather than mid-December. drywallman (234), Lake in the Hills, Illinois, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 24, 2010 This one poured with a shortlived head. It had the doughy malt aroma and tasted, with just enough herbal hops to balance. It would make a great session wheat. madmitch76 (1145), , Essex, England

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 17, 2009 12 oz. bottle courtesy of skyview. Pours a cloudy and golden orange in color with lively carbonation that creates a large, foamy off-white head that has decent retention. The aroma (which I happen to like very much) is banana, clove, wheat with moderate caramel richness, and bubblegum. The flavor is fruity with some bubblegum, along with some malty wheat, banana, clove, and a lingering rich and spicy finish. I was a bit surprised to see a Hefe at 7.2%, but there is no hint of the alcohol. This beer also has a bit more body than expected, which is in a little contrast to how soft and mellow each sip turns out to be. I have enjoyed almost each and every one of the New Glarus beers I’ve tried, but this has to be close to the top of the list. I wish this were closer and six packs were readily available.
