Hoprider (1125) - DENMARK - MAY 1, 2016Pours dark clear red with a dark beige head N: well this has almost no hops despite the style. Pretty oxidiced. T: sweet malt juice. Old ale.. You can just taste the age on this. Aftertaste is sweet but with huge depth. Complexity is enormous. Cant really split flavours apart.
Enjoyit (3807) - Vadum, DENMARK - MAY 1, 2016Reddish brown of color with a beige head. An aroma of caramel, hops, oxidiexed, sweet tobacco, liqurice and sweets. A flavor of liqurice, caramel, sweet malt and oxidiexed hops.

BelgianBeerGal (6295) - Panama City, Florida, USA - OCT 28, 2013Bottle buried deep in the cellar and re-discovered during move prep. I have no idea what this was originally but it has aged into something fantastic. It starts with a hit of hops in the aroma and flavor. I have no idea how the hops have held on over the years. It quickly mellows into a caramel, sweet, malty English barley wine style ale. This is drinking fantastically right now if you have a bottle tucked somewhere and are wondering if you should open it.
Gription79 (2892) - Bountiful, Utah, USA - MAR 2, 2013Poured from a 22 ounce bomber, thanks to Jeff. Big notes of caramel, toffee, raisin. This beer has aged well.

boFNjackson (4200) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JUL 30, 2012Bottle at a recent bottle share... Poured dark, near brownish with a tan head. A bit of oxidation here with strong malt sweetness and thick, boozy body. Tasted old. Malt sweetness and dark fruits were its saving grace.
dmschefke (576) - Macomb, Michigan, USA - JUN 4, 2012Notes from June 2010. Pours a murky mahogany with a thick light tan head, lots of lacing. Aroma of light roasted malt, caramel, dark dried fruits, brown sugar, and slight resin. Flavor matches well and this beer held up surprisingly well. I really wonder what this was like fresh.
mcberko (41769) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - APR 22, 2012750mL bottle, sent from Glouglouburp (thanks a lot Dany!), pours a beautiful dark mahogany with a large foamy beige head. Divine aroma of plums, raisins, brown sugar, heaps of caramel malt / toffee, and even a feint trace of hops still roaming around. Flavour brings out huge grapes, some plum and maybe raisins, toffee, and brown sugar - hops have all but died, but doesn’t matter, this is exceedingly well-balanced and sort of reminiscent of a barley wine. Absolutely no signs of oxidation or anything going off about this. Finishes quite dry and semi-sweet, with everything working in perfect harmony. Sticky, viscous palate and uber-decadent in all aspects.
Scopey (24169) - Oldmeldrum, SCOTLAND - MAR 16, 2012Bottle at Churchills, San Marcos. It pours very deep ruby, with a thick off-white head. The nose is pine, resin, raisin, currant, plum, caramel and brown sugar. The taste is caramel, varnish, dark fruit - cherry, prune, plum ,raisin, earth and toast, with alcohol warmth in the finish. Full body, moderate carbonation and slightly sticky mouth-feel. Great balance. All-round it’s very good.
GT (10001) - San Diego, California, USA - FEB 20, 2012750mL split at Churchill’s pub in San Marcos. Pours clear deep mahogany to blood ruby with a larger, thick yellowish head. Awesome tawny Barleywine nose with caramel, wood, butterscotch, thick brown sugar. Fresh lemon. Thick, poofy lace. Taste is sticky, malty, nice older malty character with red fruits. Red fruity, big raisin and date finish. Not too oxidized or papery. Nice aged feel despite the style. Very nice lacework.
