The best North Carolina brewed stout. Black pour, smells, tastes like it says. Excellent! Very drinkable.

Dry aroma, not much on the nose. Thick head for a stout. Pours black. Kind of watery. Wet finish. Long mocha finish.

Robust flavor but a bit on the thin side, Highland’s Black Mocha Stout pours a nearly opaque dark brown with some red highlights and a rocky tan head. Aroma is deep with black coffee notes which form the basis of the flavor. A little sweetness creeps in at the swallow but a burnt bitterness overtakes it quickly then fades into a long roasty finish. Flavor is heavily smoky throughout.

A: Pours a nice deep dark black. Tall mocha head that has nice retention and some sheet lacing. S: Very roasty with lots of chocolate and coffee. T: Roasted chocolate malt, baker chocolate, cheap coffee, lightly hopped finish. Simple yet pretty tasty. M: Medium in body, smooth nicely carbonated. D: Good, solid easy drinking stout.

Bottle from daknole’s fridge of wonders. Pours a thin coffee color with a trim beige head. Smells and tastes of chalky cocoa, coffee, and hickory. Not bad.

Nice black pour with thick tan head, pretty! Coffee roast malt scent. Little thin and tad watery. Kinda like a Storm King light in flavor.

A great, lighter style stout, perfect for a day time drink, or for having more than one.
