Draft @ Bethlehem Brew Works, pre-BCTC beerventure. Pours a very dark brown core with minimal light coming through; firm, light cocoa-colored head with perfect retention and lacing, coating the interior of the glass. Pleasant cocoa and lightly roasted malts in the aroma. Medium mouthfeel: nice baker’s chocolate and slightly bitter citrus character; lacking a bit in body, but still showing a good roasted malt and creamy oatmeal character. Medium, toasted marshmallow and chocolate finish.

Black with tan Guiness head. Rich aroma of deep roasted malt. Flavor mainly oat meal and dark roasted maly. Thin bodied. Reminded me of guiness.

Black pour with a medium tan head. Roasty aroma with some coffee and chocolate. Smooth & sweet - solid stout.

This was an outstanding oatmeal stout. I felt it was a winning version and had a nice flow with that excellent chocolate flavor.

I stopped by with a buddy while passing through on work, and we decided to stop by for lunch and a couple brews. After selecting the ESB during my meal, I settled on the Oatmeal Stout for a pseudo dessert. This was the better selection, as the opaque brew was topped with a fine Guinness-like head. The aroma was all oatmeal. The texture was dry. A commendable job by a small brewpub.

On tap at the brewpub, July 2006. Very black, with a thin beige head. Lots of chocolate character witrh plenty of roasted grain. Distinctly dry for an oatmeal stout. Quite full and chewy. Very competent and tasty if not entirely typical of the style..

Regular old oatmeal stout, which I always enjoy. However, nothing stood out on this one, which was the second to last selection on my sampler. Dark color and burnt aroma and taste were on par. (5.3% ABV)
