Commercial Description:
This is a delicious, textural, and fizzy county ale, bright gold colour, citric and sour, reminiscent of a good champagne or lambic but in a class all its own.
Fantôme – Golden ale, 8% alc. by volume, with a wonderfully musty and characterful aroma. There are many drinkers out there who believe this is the “Nectar of the Gods.” Certainly no other brewer makes beer like this, in Belgium or anywhere. How many beers of 8% plus offer such fresh fruitiness? A solid Belgian saison beer at its base, with an unusual overlay of fruitiness.

Very good tart acidity with a spicy pepper and fruits nose. Wild honey and cloves with rosemary and lemon cookies. Some orange zest and pralines initially giving way to a nice acidic lemon peel charcters with a caramel and roasr balance. Great appetizing finish.

Bottle. Pours orange golden coloured with a big lasting and lacing foamy egg white head. Aromas of orange fruit, grain, cereal, spices, hops and citrus fruit. Fruity and malty flavour with notes of oranges, honey, grassy hops and yeast. Very easy drinkable.. Great beer.

Pours light golden color with white head. Fruity aroma with some citrus. Citrus flavor, mostly oranges with a little lemon. The Fantome house flavor is there with some mustiness. Light and refrshing. Another very nice brew from one of my favorite breweries.

On tap at the source of all Fantome. Expertly poured by la serveuse artisinale, Giselle - merci Giselle! Cloudy bright golden color, big fluffy white head, great lacing. Aroma of summer fruits and citrus, maybe white pepper. Malts dominate the taste, decent hops also, very smooth and extremely easy to drink.

Pours bright golden and hazy with a thin mostly receding wispy white head. A complex beer, notes of herbs, pear, white grape, sour citrus, and light tartness from wild yeasts. Medium to full bodied with light alcohol and lively carbonation.

750 ml. bottle. Must be the same beer because it has the same label, but the language is a bit different. Purchased at Green’s on Ponce De Leon. Haze orange appearance, with a thin wispy head sitting on top. Looks pretty good to me. Nice tart, sour, funky, lemon citrus fruit aroma. The aroma is not in your face to the point where it is too much, it is quite subtle and refreshing. Wow, a very nice sweet fruity flavor. Very odd flavor, but a good "odd". Nice sharp sweet sugar strawberry/lemon zing. The yeast is quite funky; I think it got stirred up from the bottom. A nice smooth texture with some bubbles. Very fruity beer. More fruit than I expected.

Bottled 75cl. Murky copper, good head retention and appearance with impurities floating. Interesting aroma of champagne, lychee, rose, apple, plum, fresh cut grass, fig, coconut and vanilla- very fruity. Nice slight astringency bo balance out the sweetness. Yeasty. Reminiscent of champagne. Apple and plum being rather present in the taste. Refreshing. The alcohol is very well hidden. The finish is a bit boring, yeast dominated. Otherwise a very good beer. Plenty of character and delicious.
