Abbaye des Rocs Grand Cru has a rich, complex fruit aroma of cherries, golden raisins, peaches, and assorted dried fruit, laced with honey and caramel. Smooth, rich flavors reminiscent of cherries dipped in caramel, finishing with notes of dried chocolate, roasted almonds, and a hint of molasses.

Schade!

UPDATED: DEC 22, 2021 Hazy brown. Aroma is dried fruit cake dough raisin slight lime caramel dark honey some chestnut... let's say complex. Taste is slightly sweet cake dough with more dried fruit melasses and complex yeasty stuff. Overall pretty malt forward. Drinkable. Good balance. Long finish of slightly fizzy caramel and dark malt with more cake dough. I really like it.

paulvb (325) - NETHERLANDS - OCT 22, 2021
UPDATED: OCT 22, 2021 Brown color, modest head. Th aroma is sweet with notes of red fruits cake and some spices - cinnamon? The taste is suprisingly different. Liquorice, hoppy, earthy, very distant red fruits and not very sweet; quite the oppositie of its smell. Triggers a bit watery impression even. Slightly oily mouthfeel, medium body. Not very complex, not many layers. Okay dark ale, definitely not the best in class though.

hauxe (4003) - Butzbach, GERMANY - SEP 4, 2021
UPDATED: SEP 4, 2021 Brown with a creamy, beige head. The optics are off-putting: „floaters“ would be an understatement. Looks like half liquid, half sediment. The beer is expired by a few months, so I‘ll cut it some slack here. Still, I felt the need to filter this one. Aroma of brown sugar and prunes. Taste is mildly sweet with lingering toffee and cherries. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, surprisingly slightly watery texture given the optics. Really can’t make up my mind about this one.
