Aroma is bready malt and a bit of orange or grapefruit hop. Taste is somewhat muted, though really balanced between the malt and the hop. Really well made, and a nice session beer, though nothing that really jumps out at you. Cheers, Michael.

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 11, 2010 Appearance: Pours a fairly clear copper with an inch of soapy foam, that retains throughout the session.
Aroma: Floral hops and pale malt.
Taste: Pale, bready malt, floral and metallic bitter hops.
Mouthfeel: Thin and refreshing.
Overall: I enjoyed this a lot. Strikingly similar to Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. shakespeare33 (155), san diego, California, USA

Pours a very sexy translucent sun kissed, fire soaked amber.. really a nice color with a french vanilla frothy head that doesnt overstay its welcome.. The aroma is very very sweet, I smell honey, I smell molassas and I smell no bitterness.. I like the smell very different than what Im used to... initial hit to the palate is infused with a maltyness, a biscuit, earthy, slightly woody taste that is very well rounded.. very light hop presence and minimal hop retention. My standard for pale ales has always been sierra nevada and this more than holds its own.. Well constructed not overly hoppy or redundant and the malts dont pull away from the cripsness.. I can see the setiment settle in my glass and I appreciate the effort... I love Bear republic and havent been disappointed yet.. williamherbert (610), Syracuse, New York, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 10, 2010 2007: Very clear amber-orange. Only a film of head. The color is really excellent, really attractive. Almost no lace.
Strong pale malt scent with a nice layer of hops. More pale malt smell than hoppy smell. Smells like a true pale. Good balance. Flowery.
Heavy pale malt taste with only a hint of hops. The malt is biscuity at first but then has a bitter finish. More bitter of a malt thyan other pales. Hops take a back seat.
A dry feel. Leaves a milky finish that is quite nice. Medium-to-full thickness. Malty feel, but gets less dry as it warms. It’s a nice, thick pale. Dry, bitter, not bad at all. petematte46 (260), Dallas, Texas, USA

M: Medium body, good carbonation.
D: A very solid pale ale, and as the style goes, very drinkable. mjmcend (68), USA
