Commercial Description:
It may sound nuts, but most ales with nutty flavors or aromas are made without any real nuts. Abita Pecan Harvest Ale is made with real Louisiana pecans. The natural oils from the nuts give the ale a light pecan finish and aroma. It’s wonderful paired up with both red meats and seafood - and no suprise it’s great with nuts too. Abita Pecan Harvest Ale, crack one open for yourself today.

12oz bottle-pours a foamy off white head and amber color. Aroma is medium mat-sweet caramel, nutty. Taste is light/medium malt-caramel, nutty, secondary/faint hops, some praline. A bit light body mid taste. OK carbonation. Thanks jwc215 for sharing.

Bottle. Pours amber with an off-white head that settled quickly to a ring. Sweet aroma of caramel backed with nuts. The flavor finds caramel, toffee, and some light pecans. Light body, sweet throughout and a tingly carbonation.

12 oz. bottle courtesy of Doboy. Aroma - Brown sugar and nuts certainly quite evident, hints of spice. Appearance - Clear amber, substantial off white head tha lasts well, although lace is sparse. Flavor - Sweetness of the malts comes through initially, flavor is rounded out by a soft bitterness that has a light peppery character. Palate - Medium body, light carbonation, fairly smooth, but with a mildly syrupy character. Overall - I wasn’t expecting much from this beer, but all in all, it’s not too bad. Some sticky sweetness, but I think that is intended, and it seems to fit well for the season.

The aroma is mostly malty, earthy, only a slight sign of pecans or nuts. The appearance is very attractive, a nice reddish/brown, clear, carbonation bubbles, decent off-white head, lacing on glass. The flavor is definitely pecan, nutty, some sweet malts, honey, molasses come through. The finish has a slight hop bite, starting as the beer heads for the back of the throat. Clean finish. The mouthfeel is medium thick. Nice enjoyable beer, but not a great Brown Ale by any means.

Nice nutty-sweet aroma. Dark amber color with thin but persistent head. Malty intro and full mouthfeel with some carbonation. There is a genuine dry and sweet nuttiness to the beer, especialy in the aftertaste. Good bitter finish as well. One of their better seasonals.

12 oz bottle. Pours amber with a good-sized off-white head. Toasted bread and earthy nut aromas with some caramel sweetness. Flavor is definitely the pecans and some toasty malts with slight hints of fruit. Fairly watery, not much of a finish, and unfortunately not what was promised by the rather pleasing aroma.

12oz bottle. Pours clearish amber with a moderate offwhite head, good lace. Smells nutty and sweet malty, earthy. Tastes nutty and sweet caramelly, brown sugar maltiness. Medium body, subdued carbonation.

Bottle at NOLA in Palo Alto. Pours a mostly clear amber color with a creamy one-finger white head. Aroma is caramel malt, pecan’ and spice. Flavor is somewhat mild but pleasant with caramel malt, pecans, bread, and some earthy hop bitterness. Medium-light body with a fairly smooth palate and soft carbonation. Not too exciting, but pretty good overall.
