| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Feb 14, 2010 Thanks to goryshkewych for this one. Pours dark brown/ black with a tan head. Nose is roast, dark fruit, chocolate, bourbon, vanilla, booze, earth, and lots of depth. Flavor confirms all suspicions: balanced as hell with a lack of dominating booze flavor and lots of complimentary bourbon. Roasty, dark fruit, and vanilla throughout are this winner’s claim to fame. Medium to full body and nice finish of bourbon and roast. ¾ (5103), Boulder, Colorado, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 25, 2010 Bottled. A pitch black beer with a thick almost black head. The aroma has notes of malt - sweet as well as roasted, combined with notes of soy sauce. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of soy sauce, roasted malt, and caramel, leading to a dry alcoholic finish where the soy sauce note lingers. Thanks MadsBerg for sharing.
