Commercial Description:
Editor's note: Voted best new beer 2007 by the Danish Society of Beer Enthusiasts.

English: Imperial Stout is a dark and rich beer with a beautiful dark cream coloured head. It’s brewed from several types of roast malts and conditioned on oak, which adds to the heavy body. The Imperial Stout has a strong and growing aftertaste of coffee, bitter chocolate and vanilla. Suited for game, strong cheeses and chocolate desserts. Or may be enjoyed alone in a cognac snifter in front of the fireplace.

A black colored beer, with a dark beige almost brown colored thick foamy head. The aroma of chocolate with sweet fruits, roasted malts and some vanilla. The taste of sweet, chocolate with some liquorice juice. Flavors of fruits like prunes. In The back some alcohol. The aftertaste is bitter with some sweet.

Midnight black with a brown head. Aroma is sharp roasted malts with notes of coffe and chocolate. Flavour is intensely roasted with coffe, chocolate, caramell and some fairly heavy and oily hop bitterness in the finish. Palate is rather slick, fairly full bodied. Quite good but very ordinary.

With a design that makes you think of the middle ages, with swords and gothic letters...what a proper wraping for an imperial stout that almost could be the oil that were poured on top of intruders from castle walls back then. Allways a thump up for good wrapping - and this one is. Pours a dark brown - almost black with a nice light brown creamy head - that stays. The nose is light with coffee- and caramel notes. There is some vanilla and wet hay and wood. The taste is surprisingly mild with a rather flat palate and a faint finish - bummer. You can taste the barrelaging and there are notes of both coffee and chocolate, roasted malts, vanilla and plump. The bitterness are overtaking the taste in the end. OK
