Growler: Poured a dark copper with a very thin head. Sweet alc. aroma with a buttery caramel candy smell and an over-ripe apricot fruitiness. Bit thin on the palate I thought but general Belgian taste. Sweet malt flavour with a minor balanced bitterness and a sticky alc. finish that warms you as the beer warms.

Amber colour with not much head. Bubble gum aroma. Not a bad tasting beer however my palate may just be happy I stepped away from the hops for a bit. Spicy yeast, sweet slightly bitter finish. GCBF.

Had this on tap at the brewery. I didn’t take notes but it was better than a 2.3 so I’m going to bump the score up a bit closer to what I had out in Surrey.

Cask, GCBF: Bright amber. Candyish, caramelly, bubblegummy aroma. Fairly fizzy and sticky body. Really, really sweet - very candyish. Unbalanced - some ester complexity starts to salvage it, and the malts are obviously quality, but it’s still too sweet. Ar 6 Ap 2 F 4 P 2 O 9 = 2.3

(Draught) Sampled at the Great Canadian Beer Festival 2007 in Victoria on September 7th, 2007. Very sweet nose. Flavour is somewhat vanilla and chrome. Fairly average.
