Aroma of lightly sweet toasty grainy pine resiny caramel and fresh woodsy notes and spice. Body starts well-carbonated with average fullness, faintly sweet and dark caramely with some sticky spruce notes toward a drier finish. A decent spiced Belgian ale. stobbe74 (981), Denmark

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Nov 25, 2009 bottle. i believe this is the 2007 version as there is no date. labels match. the beer is dark brown and murky under a huge foamy beige head with lots of slow moving carbonation bubbles and a viscous appearance. sweet red apples, caramel, and some tangy tropical fruits (pineapple) in aroma. palate is medium bodied and foamy with plenty of carbonation. flavors don’t really seem to blend well. i’m getting a mix of really bitter and lightly sweet. not really spiced enough for a christmas beer. kp (8700), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Jul 17, 2009 In the 330 mL bottle. Pours dark purple brown with a medium off white head. This has a big aroma of raisins and cherries. The flavor is nothing as fruity, but somewhat oxidized and very harsh biting finish on the tongue. Underwhelming.
