COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Found an old tasting note: big aroma, super malted and a hint of fruit. some corn mash note, and a slight roasted almond note. It has a real fruity taste like port and blueberries or prunes but it has a nice bittering component to it. Tasty brew.

PotjeBier (4514) - NETHERLANDS - MAY 12, 2012
50 cl bottle (from De Bierkoning) @ home. Deep dark brown color. Huge ever growing pulsating (ehm, well) light brown head. Aroma’s: sweet juicy berries, brown sugar, chocolate, some roast. Flavor is medium sweet, lightly bitter & roasted. Medium body. Finishes with more roast and medium bitter. Even though this was past the BB date, this was still very nice.

Martinus (5018) - Baarle-Nassau, NETHERLANDS - MAY 9, 2012
Dark red, brownish colour, off-white dissipating head. Aroma of soap, somewhat fruity, quite dusty, dish cloths that have been lying around for too long. Malty, fruity flavour, caramel with a nice hops bitterness. Bitter hops finish, caramel, bitter roasted malts.
Quite lovely, aside from the aroma, which is rather off-putting.
(From 50cL bottle @ 2nd Tuesday tasting, De Molen, Bodegraven. BB 07-’11)

50 cl bottle. Rated on 2.2.2010
Opaque. Dark brown colour, disappearing head. Aroma is sweet and stale with malt, some berries typical to Danish ales and hints of blue cheese. Flavour is sweet with berries and some malt. Muddy feeling. Not good, I expected much more from Amager.

rand (3450) - SWITZERLAND - MAR 28, 2012
Bottle 50 cl from erzbierschof.ch. Dark red-brown beer with a nice fine and beige foam. Aromas of chocolate, roasted malt, dark fruits, spicy hops and sugar dust. The taste is soft, with a fruity acidity, the beer has complex tones, chocolate and bitter, notes of brown sugar and spices. There is a bottom of drought from sweet and spicy hops, but the alcool goes unnoticed.

magdalar (516) - Zurich, SWITZERLAND - FEB 26, 2012
50cl bottle. Pours a dark brown with an offwhite head. Smells of plum, dark fruits, candi sugar, caramel, malt. Tastes very malty, chocolatey. Medium-strong sweetness. Mild bitter hoppiness. Lots and lots of malt. Texture is overall creamy, but somewhat watery, and with some chewiness. Kind of a messy composition, but still very tasty.

from Erzbierschof - cloudy dark brown beer with a moderate dark beige foam left; a decent hoppiness along with a fair biscuity maltiness; toasted; full-bodied and very tasty, creamy palate; fairly bitter and very long toasted cookie-like, nutty and hoppy finish - beautiful
