This is about as good an American lager as I’ve ever found. Effervescent on the tongue, a nice light straw color and taste. Hops give a slight spicy edge, almost tangy. I haven’t found many brewpubs with a good light lager, but this one is worth finding (the brewmaster told me one reason he left Port Washington is that the bar owners couldn’t keep the lines in shape, ruining the beer between brewing and serving).

| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Mar 16, 2008 Attractive beading/bright golden pour/fluffy white head all contribute to the good looks of this brew. Flavor though was thin, weak, timid and disappointing...even for a pale lager. There was a very light herbal hop not in the finish...and the finish was the best part of this drink. Pours a clear reddish amber brew with an off white head. Very nice lacing. Aroma of multi-grain malt with a a touch of apples and roasted nuts. Tastes is medium body, herbal tones, lightly carbonated with a light hoppy finish. A little watery going down but still refreshing. Ughsmash (4268), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 26, 2006 On tap at Hops Haven. Poured a clear brighter golden with a light cap of white head and thorough lacing. Grainy and kinda corny on the nose with some pale malt and cereal notes.. bit of citrus too.. rather weak but pleasant. This was tasty and refreshing... cereal malts at the core with lemongrass and mild floral bitterness surrounding. Lighter-bodied. Higher carbonation made it rather spritzy.. still refreshing, though. | 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Jul 9, 2005 Clear gold in color with a thin sheet of a white splotch for the head. Reserved aroma, with some flour off the grocery shelves and a little underlying lemon signals. Watery and carbonated with a hops injection as an afterthought. Served too cold, probably trying to mask how terrible this one really is. Musky, skunked finish. JCapriotti (1378), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA

Herbally sweet, with sort of a stale cardboard-like finish. Blah. ElGaucho (1743), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA

Tastes a little old. Sweet and fruity with faint hops. Enjoyable and drinkable. Decent, just not great. Wouldn't buy it again.
