Commercial Description:
In our pursuit to bring you the most flavourful and unique beers possible, we are proud to release this tasty autumn ale. Handcrafted with an assortment of specialty malts and hops, we added a generous amount of pumpkin directly into the brew. Combine this with hints of cinnamon, clove, nutmeg and allspice, and you’ve got a beer that you won’t soon forget. Rich, satisfying and slightly spicy, our seasonal ale goes perfectly with your favourite dessert or traditional feast. But like fall, Pumpkin Ale comes but once a year!

650ml bottle, amber color, with a thick white head, yeasty, spicy nose of cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, gingerbread, with a toasted, biscuity malt, bready dough, pumpkin skin accent, and light pumpkin pie aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a crisp, faint fruity pumpkin, spicy character of clove, cinnamon, nutmeg, gngerbread, with a biscuity, caramel malt note and a hint of cookie dough, with mild pumpkin skin fruitiness, and faint flowery hop grassy accent, leading towards a toasted malty, spicy cinnamon, lingering hop bitterness finish.

Bottle. Pale orange pour with thin white head. Good spicy aroma, cloves, cinnamon and definite pumpkin aromas. Taste is rather mild, still some candycane, spice and a very earthy kind of bitter finale. Watery mouthfeel.

From notes. Amber pour, off white carbonation. Lots of pumpkin with a mild dose of spices- nutmeg, cinnamon, allspice- cereal grains in the background. Very easy to drink. Medium body, balanced. Decent pumpkin ale.

65 cl bottle, Mulmur, ON, Canada. Deep golden colour, frothy thick head. Heavy clove aroma, cinnamon and nutmeg coming through. Sharp spice on the tongue that turns mellow, finishes sharp again. More watery than expected but drinkable.

A - Clear light amber/gold body with a nice fluffy light-tan head. Nice head retention and impressive lacing. The aroma is not a very strong one overall. It’s floral, with a nice pumpkin base, a fair amount of spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, clove) and some caramel notes. The taste starts out with very pronounced pumpkin, followed by a moderate spiciness and a touch of caramel. Some floral hop bitterness was also present. The taste finished in a fair amount of spice notes, as well as some bitterness and light sweetness. The pumpkin taste gets stronger as the beer warms up. Overall, a good example of the style, and quite a tasty one, with just enough pumpkin and spices.

Nice slightly hazy orange/copper coloured body with a nice thinnish slightly white head. Aroma of nice spice, squash, pumpkin, nutmeg (big time) and a light bit of caramel. Light to Medium-bodied; Very mild spiciness with some nutmeg, raw sugar and squash with a thinnish lemon taste at the end. Aftertaste shows just about nothing, perhaps some mild cinnamon and nutmeg. Overall, I’m not sure if this is the same batch that everyone else had - but this is pretty bland and definitely not impressive when compared to other beers in the style. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from the LCBO (Summerhill) in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on 11-October-2009, sampled at home in Washington on 05-November-2009.
