Commercial Description:
Cask & Bottle conditioned; Regular.
A new golden beer from Nethergate, drinking more like a best bitter than its strength suggests. The fruity and spicy overtones are noticeable from the start on the nose and palate, whilst at the end the the sweet, soft orange notes return, resulting in a complete, well-rounded finish.

500ml bottle, as Essex Border Stour Valley, enjoyed in a relaxing atmosphere on a Saturday afternoon at Naboen in Bergen. Hazy amber body topped by an one-finger, white head. Nice glass-lacing. Floral hoppy aroma. Malty flavour well paired with spicy hops. Dry bitter finish. Medium bodied. Actually a quite sophisticated beer (20.06.2009).

Cask (handpump) at the Wenlock Arms, Islington, 31 July 2009. Gold/amber colour. Fairly dry malty aroma. Clean and crisp. Some citrus. Develops an appealing bitterness on the finish. Very agreeable without quite hitting the high spots.

Umm, well, not great. Golden in colour. Rough, nettle & bitter green-leaf hop bite to it that was getting near to undrinkable.

0.5 L bottle@Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Big, mostly lasting white head with good laceworks. Soft carbonated, foggy, gold colored body. Moderate but rounded aroma of yellow fruits, semi-dry toffee-ish malts floral hops. Medium strong, dryish malt body with as sourish accent. Earthy, light fruity bitterness beneath. Light-bodied and quite watered down in the mouth. Sourish malty finish, with a fine, lasting bitterness. Solid and straightforward.

Cask@Wenlock Arms. Golden colour, not much head. Aroma is yeast, bread, some flowery hops and mild earthyness. Flavour is quite much the same alng with some herbal, yeasty and earthy notes.

Cask - The Glasshouse (JDW), Norwich. Clear, golden colour with a medium size, lasting, creamy white head, which left a good lacing. Good toasty malt and grassy, fruity hop balance. The fruitiness of both the malt and hop are balanced but neither seemed developed fully. Finishes with a nice dry hoppy finish; a good all-round golden ale.
