22 oz. bottle @ liquid sunshine tasting - thanks to bitbucket for the side by side; similar to the 10 in appearance with a dark cola brown body; more whiskey in the aromas and little bit of tartness too; less sweet and a little stale; like the 10, very rich and chocolaty; nose not quite as big and flavors not as full and developed; a damn fine brew, but pretty much smoked when beside the 10

Bottle shared with Plovmand. WOW. Dark brown body with a small quick dissapering offwhite head. Aroma is wood, vanilla, dark fruit, figs, dates and bourbon (fantastic). Flavor is wood/oak, vanilla bourbon, notes of alcohol. Very long lasting woody aftertaste.

Thanks to Plovmand and Hallinghansen for sharing. Dark brown with a small off-white head. Really incredible complex oak aroma, on top of dried fruits, caramel and brown sugar. Well balanced flavour despite loads of oak, loads of sweetness and loads of alcohol.

Bottle shared with hallinghansen. Pours very dark brown with a dense tan head. The aroma is bourbon, prunes, raisin, brown sugar, vanilla, oak and barley. Perfection! I have sniffed this beer for now 5 mins. Fantastic flavour of sweet caramel, bourbon, vanilla, chocolate and barley. Long bourbon sweet finish. You can taste the alcohol but its warming.

Bottle. Pours deep, rich mahogany, very dark, with a ring of white head. Big, malty nose with rasisins, figs, some kind of chocolate syrup, and booze. Quite a bit more elegant in the mouth than the nose suggests. Leather, tobacco, and a subtle spiciness really tie it together. Like a bourbon barrel barleywine blended with an old, leathery stout. Very expressive flavor, alcohol heat is quite pleasant. I wish I had a cigar to smoke with this one. Not as good as the XIII.

Bottle shared at local BA gathering. Poured clear reddish brown color with a large frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy toasted malt, woody and spice with a small alcohol aroma. Medium to full body with a creamy texture and lively carbonation. Medium to heavy balanced toasted malt flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate to long duration. This is a standout beer.

Had this (thanks to "hannont") recently at an RB/BA tasting at Bailey’s Taproom in Portland, OR. Colour... ruby-brown with no head. Nose... loads of English toffee, butterscotch, milk caramel, Madagascar vanilla, marshmallow, creme brulee and a long sweet finish

Bottle shared at a Portland BA/RB tasting held at Bailey’s Taproom... Poured dark, clear, amberish/ruby. Light carbonation with flavors of oak, dark fruits, malts and even still a little hot after a couple of years on it.

Bottle:   Dark brown in color, nearly black, moderate to small off-white head, foamy, falls quickly, leaving spotty lacing.   Graham cracker nose, slight bourbon and vanilla.   Golden Grahams on the tongue, vanilla, bourbon, and certainly the aformentioned graham cracker.   Somewhat sweet, but not cloying.   Not as complex as I would have thought.   Pretty straight forward, bourbon barrel aged with hints of vanilla and graham cracker.   Maybe a little bit of toasted marshmallow.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate to full.   Lingering graham cracker, toasted marshmallow, bourbon, and vanilla.   Very warming on the backside.   Certainly tasty, but not as complex as I would have thought.   Thanks Jacob for the bottle!
