(Bottled) Clear amber with a medium, bubbly-lemonadey, mostly fading head. Aroma of caramely malt and some berries, plus hints of metal when cold. Caramely malt also in the flavor, with nutty-citrusy, aromatic hops, and toffee sweetness. Sweetish, toffee-berryish aftertaste. Medium body with a bit high and fizzy carbonation. A very average beer in every sense, and nothing christmasy in it, either.

Clear deep golden color with a medium white head. Sweet caramel aroma with some hop notes. Malty flavor. Again real light on the hops.

Average at best. Great name, great label, so so beer. Clear amber with nice head but not much aroma. What there is is malt. Flavor is a bit skunky malt. Maybe should be called Reindeers Revolting.

Pours orange color with a white head. The aroma is somewhat faint but appears to be mainly caramel malt. The flavor is heavy on the caramel malt with a little bit of hop bitterness. You also get some caramel candy flavor. The finish is somewhat dirty. Thin body and highly carbonated. Not much of a beer.

Honey colored pour with an earthy, grassy aroma. Lacing is very good. Raisiny front end and slightly bitter finish.

500. Pours a murky dark amber with bright toffee clouds at the edges. Dense creamy white head that fades quickly to not much at all. Dense sheets of lace coming down the sides of the glass. Oranges and a bit of ginger on the nose, but very, very restrained. Creamy medium body with soft carb. Oranges, caramel, and a bit of biscuit on the mid-palate. Neutral finish.

Ah yes, another crappy Christmas beer from the folks at Ridgeway. People see these beers and think they are cute ideas to give as gifts. As a result, I end up with two or three bottles of Santa’s Butt, Bad Elf, Seriously Bad Elf, etc. which I proceed to immediately pour down the drain when I get home so I can at least collect my nickel deposit, which is the only value in these beers. I haven’t had the misfortune of trying Reindeer’s Revolt yet, however, it clearly reaffirmed the gross mediocrity that is Ridgeway. Pours a slightly hazed golden amber with a moderate linen white head that lasted through the first quarter of the glass and left partial lace. Barely any aroma except for perhaps a wisp or two of malt. The flavor is weak malt followed by some flavorless, moderately bitter hops. I poured about half of the bottle into my glass, and I think I drank about half of the glass. Out to the recycling box...

Aroma: Light sweet citrus. Appearance: Amber orange, bubbly, off white thin head, Taste: Light hints of sweet and citrus. Palate: Thin, quite fizzy, and with a bitter finish. Overall: A very average beer that doesn’t stand out in any areas. It is quite drinkable though, despite its 6% strength.
