Commercial Description:
The newest Abita brew takes its name and inspiration from the Mardi Gras Indians of New Orleans. Looking for Indians on Mardi Gras Day is a tradition for many New Orleans families. A cultural phenomenon familiar to residents of the Crescent City, the Mardi Gras Indians are not well known to outsiders and Abita is proud to help share their story with the world.

Pours a hazy medium amber with a smallish off white head. Aroma is sweet and citrusy. Taste is nice citrusy hop with a little bit of malt sweetness and nice crisp bitter finish. Pretty good for Abita.

12oz bottle from Degarth. Dark amber boddy, stout off white head that has great retention and some excellent lacing. This thing is a monster, very dense and well formed. Caramel malts, Starburst, perfume hops and soap on the nose. Tastes very similar, artificial citrus candy and caramel malts being the stars, with the hops being a secondary force. Bitterness picks up throughout, but it’s never overly apparent or forward. Medium bodied, slick mouthfeel. Finish is lengthy, citrus fruits, perfume hops and at the end some astringency and bitterness.

Bottle. Poured an amber/copper color with a pretty good white head that lasted to the end. Lacing was fair. Aroma was balanced between the hops and malt with the hops coming through initially. Flavor also was balanced well between the hops and malt. Much like a good English IPA. Mouthfeel was pretty good. This is a highly drinkable IPA.I enjoyed this beer

Decent, very drinkable, but nothing great. Citrusy hops and some caramel malts. More sweet than bitter. Mild flavor and light bodied. I was hoping for something stronger, surprisingly weak for 6.5%

12 oz bottle.....Smells soapy, yuk (sour)...clear copper with an off-white head...its average and it fades quickly....thin and watery, soapy aftertaste...some watery citrus...not good, not good at all..I took just a few sips of this and gave it away...

Bottle, pours a light amber color, clear with a fluffy tan head. Nice burst of hops on the initial taste then fades to carmel sweetness, The best Abita brew I have had, it is still nothing great but hey they’re getting better.
