Pours hazy golden brown. Whispy head, nice stický lace. Bitter peppery and floral hops up front. Grapefruit pith makes an appearance too. Caramel and dough followed by bready malts that seem to be used in every one of their beers. Dry finish w some chewy resins. bvc (518), Kenmore, Washington, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Dec 16, 2009 Draft at Naked City. Hazy dark apricot golden color with light white head. Kind of a subtle nose, but the hops are what are really poking through. Caramel grapfruitiness at it best, saying ’drink me bvc’. Nice bitting bitterness up front with some light citrus notes following, but it never turns to the sweeter side. Then it it finishes kind of grassy and bitter with the crystal malt showing through. Nice PNW winter seasonal. Nena (335), Seattle, Washington, USA

Has a mild aroma of caramel, floral hops, and some spiciness. Flavor is toasty, caramelly malt, some apple fruitiness, and a whole lot of pine hoppiness that leads into a bitter, slightly spicy finish. One of the better seasonals I’ve had this year. carruthm (1272), Seattle, Washington, USA

Poured hazy copper with a fluffy bisque head and medium lacing. Aroma of pine and citrus hops and a decent amount of toffee malt. Flavor was pretty hoppy, starting with citrus and hitting some pine and malt towards the end. Solidly enjoyable and always fun to drink Christmas brews in the summer. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 16, 2009 On-Tap @ Bailey’s Taproom poured into Shaker glass. Winter in July.
Pours a murky copper color with a creamy off-white head that is slow to dissolve and leaves a medium ring with nice lacing down the glass as it is drank. The aroma is fluffy hops, malt, sap/pine and some spices. The flavor is grapefruit bitterness upfront followed by a caramel malt backbone. Its medium bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Its a good beer with a light aroma and a pretty sweet flavor with a soft bitterness. Travlr (1102), Washington, Washington DC, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Jan 2, 2009 Draught at Concordia in Portland. Odd muddy golden color, small white head. Floral aroma. Hops are immediately apparent, some background of light spice. Much hoppier than most winters. Good one. ¾ (5101), Boulder, Colorado, USA

Hugely dank cedar and fruit scented hops, tangy and spicy, reminds me of SN Celebration but ridiculously smooth, rich and decadent. Amazingly fresh, vibrant and delicious. Chewy rich and tangy up front, with maple and sharp cedar in the finish. Damn.
