COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer, robust in taste and strength (9%) is the tops for flavour. It has a fruity and spicy bouquet, it has a stark taste, between a sharp bitterness and a caramelised flavour. It has no sugar, and this pure malt beer oscillates between various tendencies which all round off the bitterness. It has a peppery taste at the back of the mouth and a sharpness on the tongue. It is active in the mouth and lets each flavour express itself individually. It is very active in the glass which gives it a full, lasting, head. It has a long conclusion and puts emphasis on an ever present bitterness but less supported by the caramel. The final impression is one of gingerbread without sugar.

Samea punertavankellertävänruskea olut innokkaalla, mutta aika nopeasti häviävällä vaahdolla. Hiivapartikkeleita kaatuu lasiin todella paljon oluen mukana.

Bottle from Beer Cartel (33cl). Murky deep amber with a solid dense white head. Notes of banana, toast, alcohol, soft pepper and caramel on the nose. Boozy thick sticky creamy palate with largely sweet malty flavours and a soft spiciness before finishing with an alcoholic burn. Low bitternes. A big rich Belgian dark triple.

Bottle 33cl. Poured into a tulip glass. Clear medium amber, small frothy off-white head, receding slowly to a thin layer, light lacing; strong malt aroma, caramel, light orange, yeast; taste light heavy sweet and light bitter, malty, toffee, alcohol, light fruity notes; sweetbitter finish, warming alcohol, light spicy notes; full body, oily to creamy texture, soft carbonation; very nice and smooth, a real barley wine.

Sample from a bottle at DØE 2016. Amber colour with a white head. Aroma and flavour of malt, caramel, spice, hops and yeast.

Massive gusher, lost half the 330ml bottle to my lounge room. The beer is fairly good - caramel, bready, belgian yeast - but can’t make up for that level of gushing. Disappointing.

330mL bottle from International Beer Collector. BB 28/08/2017 Pours a murky sort of pale bronze body, foamy head. Aroma is quite intense - peppery, clovey phenolics, bread dough, biscuity caramel malt, has a medicinal red berry fruit sort of note - not sure if its hop or yeast derived? Syrupy smooth creamy sort of texture, big without being cloying or evidently potent. Carbonation subdued. Flavour is quite sweet upfront - lots of caramel, overly ripe stonefruits, sweet bread crust, savoury spice & black pepper, has a sort of lifted citrus note lingering brings a sense of balance to the beer. A solid Belgian strong for sure - maybe expecting more from a 9%er?
