Commercial Description:
Blanche des Honnelles (1991) was originally very localised, and has since expanded beyond the boundries of the greater and lesser Honnelle rivers, from which it takes it's name. The Blanche des Honnelles leaves the beaten path somewhat. It has an amber colour which is after all the traditional appearance of the Blanches. It is also stronger (6%) than the Blanches that we know. Its taste is surprising and is not comparable to the brews with the same name that are now on the market. If the bouquet is subdued its first flavour is a stark dry sharpness against a pepper background. There is no acidity in this Blanche that is made with three cereals (barley, wheat, oats). It has a stimulating taste, leaving a subdued but refreshing final impression. Lots of character and curious.

Bottle, 33cl. Hazy yellow colour (almost amber) with a huge white head that lasts long. Very lively and beautiful. Aroma is sweet, with hints of fruits and yeast. Flavour is just fabulous: sweet, spicy and flowered, very refreshing and tasty. No acidity on this one. Blanche des Honnelles was a big surprise to me. Great appearence and marvellous flavour. Different from most of the Witbiers i know. But overall, one of the best Wits i’ve ever had!

Bottle from Super Saver. Hazy golden pour with big fluffy white head. Aromas of orange zest, hopcs, coriander, malty Bretty funk. The flavor is citric at first, then it gets citrusy and floral spicy, with coriander, orange and lemon zest, and some funky black and Bell peppery notes. Complex and well balanced, this one is a standout.

Bottle Courtesy Niels Jørn at Wintercoat. Fantastic Witt.Creamy white excellent fully lasting head. Yellow colour. Powerfull hoppy aroma, almost not wit-like, but delicate understading every little aromatype. Fantatic complex flavor, not that powerfull but exstremely delicate. Oily palate. One of most interesting beers I have ever tasted.

(07.13.06) One pint 9.4 oz green bottle from Liquorama. 6.8% ABV. Best by 05.08.08. Spicy clove aroma. Poured cloudy dark orange with large white head. No discernable carbonation. Medium-bodied ale that starts dry with light malt/spicy (clove) fruity flavors. Some tartness noted. Finished dry and clean with slight bitterness. Excellent wheat beer with delicate flavor.

This is just superb. Rich, almost buttery aroma. Flavor is a bit more epehmeral than the aroma, but still pronounced. Baking spices and a tiny hint of candied yelllow fruits.
