Commercial Description:
Deep golden and malty, with a spicy hop flavor and a subtle, well-balanced hop bitterness, Rio Blanco is a uniquely Texan interpretation of an English-style pale ale. The addition of Czech hops gives the ale a refreshing crispness and flavor that will satisfy you under the hottest Texas sun.

Poured from bottle. Pronounced aroma of American hops, malt, and citrus. Very nice gold color, but with no head or lace. Flavor is surprisingly dark for such a light color; there is toffee, black tea, and a mild salinity. Carbonation is crisp and dry; beer finishes very quick. Good session beer.

[Bottle] Pours a hazy amber color with nice lacing. Sweet biscuit and citrus in the aroma. The taste is rather spicy with a crisp hoppy character throughout. Lingering lemon zest and a dry bready finish. Good body and mouthfeel. I thought this was a solid, yet pretty standard APA.

It’s actually very good when very fresh. In a Texan summer it would have both body (which some local beers lack) and a nice light bite that the heat demands without being too strong. Slightly malty and lightly hopped with a gentle hop-acid back bite. Bought it in Randalls on Fry Road, Katy Tx. It’s too light to travel well. I enjoyed it.

12 ounce bottle thanks to Eric. Pours a clear apricot color with a small white head. The aroma is pleasant; sweet citrus hops, grass and herbal notes. A smooth and very quaffable flavor; citrus hops and loads of sweet honey dipped grain. Easygoing and clean. Nice.

12oz bottle pours a clear, honey-colored beer with a 1-inch off-white head leaving some lacing. Barely noticeable hop aroma. Balanced malt sweetness/hop bittter with a slight body and fine carbonation. Easy to drink, but not much depth or character. Would be good Texas summer beer.

Bottle from Gene Simmons of Kiss. Pours orange with a styrofoam-like head. Tangerine hop nose and tangerine hop flavors dominate with a gritty, grainy finish at the end. Body is medium, bitterness is mellow. I dont like the finish...kinda unrefined.

Pours from bottle, cloudy, deep amber. Two fingers of foamy head that mellows out quickly. Aroma of grass and bread. Medium sweetness, medium bitterness, medium body, creamy, with average carbonation, with a long sticky finish.
