Bottle shared by BOLTZ7555 at hellbilly’s holiday tasting. Hazy amber color pour with a small head. Aroma of sweet malt, yeast and lemon. Flavor of sour unripe fruit, vinegar, yeast and lemon. Delicious! Thanks Jason!

750ml bottle shared by BOLTZ7555 at hellbilly’s holiday tasting. Pours hazy amber with a thin white head that fades quickly. The nose is malt, honey and sweet vinegar. The taste is tart apple, balsamic vinegar, lemon and malt. Medium mouthfeel. Very good – not an in your face sour, a nice enjoyable sipper. Thanks Jason!

Recently tried a bottle of this at a sours tasting. Colour... very cloudy, amber suspension. Nose... acetic, crisp, pungent vinegar. Palate... POW! BAM! This ale makes you pucker up like you been eatin’ green persimmons! Time for an acetic, ascorbic, oaky, brett filled ride on the Grand Funky Railroad! Sour City! Next station stop, Sour City! Toot, toot!!

Kudos to xmarcnolanx for sharing this rare goodie. Pours brown / copper with a small white head. The aroma has lots of sourness, green onion funk, some tart citrus and weird malt. Medium / light body with subtle light carbonation. The flavor starts with good sourness, citric acid, grain, oakiness, tartness and and overall sharpness to everything. The finish has nice graininess, sourness and some green onion. Very nice beer, but it didn’t meet my expectation.

Draft at Sourfest 2009 at Brouwer’s. Pours a nice amber orange with a bubbly white head that fades quickly. Aroma hits with sour bread and gewurtztraminer with citrus becoming more pronounced with warming. Initally sour but sweet citruis comes through as it warms. Medium boddy with good carbonation and a tasty lingering sourness. Great beer.

Not quite sure why so many consider this the ultimate sour--it’s not even my favorite RR sour. Tasted at SWB’s Sour Fest along with 15 others. Pours orange amber with thin head. Aromas of brown sugar, citrus, peach, wood. It definitely smells better than it tastes, with sour apple and citrus. Sour bubbles linger. It’s refreshing, and a fine sour, but not the best. I expected a bit more complexity at the very least.

Bottle courtesy of goldtwins (HUGE THANKS!). Poured a very hazy orange color, very little carbonation and nice sour apple funk aroma. Flavor was yeast, then rolled into acidic lemon and then finished with a nice sour funk that lingered on and on. Just amazing, probably one of the best sours I’ve had so far.
