| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 16, 2007 I was delighted to see one of my favourite beers ranked as the 3rd best Canadian beer. This is available in bottle and on tap. I happened to have this on tap in a nearby pub close to The University of Guelph Campus. Probably the best stout I’ve tasted. Pours very dark brown, with suprisingly minimal head. First impressions, was a very creamy, thick stouts, with hints of coffee bean, chocolate, and a slightly bitter aftertaste of cinamon. The only downside to this beer is that it takes quite a while to get through one pint, since there is so many favours. This is not a beer that should be drunk fast, but on the other hand, if it is drunk too slowly, then it can sometimes be tedius to get through. I have had it quite a few times, and I savour it each time. It is a beer that is easy to find in most Canadian LCBO’s, and any beer lover should go out and try it. Highly recomended!

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 20, 2010 Had on tap at Vintage Estates in Boardman, Ohio. Pours a delicious looking jet black color with huge amount of frothy light brown head. Aroma is roasty bitter chocolate and espresso with a tad black licorice hint. Flavor is different than most oatmeal stouts I try. Instead of being sweeter, this is definitely a dry stout. Pretty light on the palate, dry roasted malts, oatmeal presence is there but more in the background. Finish is clean and dry. Overall, enjoyable. phaleslu (803), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 17, 2010 11.5 oz. bottle from The Party Source. Pours a very dark brown, opaque and near black, with a tiny tan head that leaves only a small ring around the inner edge. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, espresso, oats, brown sugar, and banana. Flavor doesn’t quite live up to the nose, and seems a bit watered down and flat compared to what it should be. Notes of roasted malts, metallic notes, banana, brown sugar, espresso, chocolate, oats, and mineral notes. Medium-bodied, with low carbonation and the mouthfeel of flat soda. Dry, chalky finish. It has some awesome notes, but it’s missing something. A little more body, a little more pop in the flavor, and this could really be special. Still a damn good beer. Coffee and chocolate are mixed perfectly in a beer which everybody should like. I’ve had it 3 times (2 bottles and 1 in tap) and it hasn’t disappointed yet. bb (3153), Martinez, California, USA
