Commercial Description:
A delicate amount of Maple syrup is added to each barrel of our award winning Maple Nut Brown Ale to impart roasted sweetness. This addition balances the nut flavor produced by Munich caramel and chocolate malts used in the brewhouse, producing a drinkable dark amber ale with a relatively low alcohol content. 2000 World Beer Cup Gold Medal & 1996 Great American Beer Festival Bronze Medal Winner

A little misleading. Excellent color but the flavor and texture did not match up to its color. A little to fake flavored to me but if you like maple syrup this is the beer for you.

Great nutty taste. Nice amber color. Slight maple smell. Great in Colorado and terrible in Florida. This beer travels poorly as do the rest of their beers. They take on a very sharp bitter taste.

I’m not sure where maple comes in on this beer. Pours a brown with a white head. Aroma is malt and nut. Taste is very much malt with a little nuttiness. I don’t pick up any maple whatsoever. Very average beer.

THOUGHTS: Lots of flavor for a fairly small beer, but still a little thin. The aroma was a little more pleasant than the flavor. TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a clear, medium reddish brown with red highlights and an average to large, creamy, off-white head that kept a decent sheet and left excellent lacing. The aroma was moderate caramel and nutty malt; and maple syrup. The initial flavor was sweet and a bit acidic; while the finish was rather sweet, lightly bitter and slightly sour with an average duration. There was maple syrup, caramel and nutty malts and hints of chocolate. The light to medium body leaned to medium was a little syrupy for a moment and then suddenly rather dry with fizzy carbonation and there really wasn’t much of a finish but what was there was lightly astringent and lightly dry.

bottle, pours carmel with a thin off white head. Thin sugary aroma and flavor. Watered down carmel mess.

Dark hazy brown, abundant frothy tan head. Light, grainy aroma with faint hints of molasses. Sweet, dull flavor with smoky roasted grains. Very low bitterness, slightly insipid finish. Sweetish with nothing to brighten it up, and low roast flavor.

I was looking forward to trying this after a recommendation from a friend, but ended up being disappointed. The beer was a little to sweet for my taste and seemed to overwhelm the any nut flavor in the beer.

Not a bad beer, not a great beer. For me, just like I rated it, slightly above average. It did have a good color and head. Flavor seemed to missing something I couldnt put my finger on.
