500ml bottle thanks very much to madmitch76 for throwing this beauty in as a bonus. 2008 harvest. Pours a hazy orange with yellow hue, medium off white head, minimal lacing. Aroma of citrus hops, slight floral, pine, grass, and yeast. I started drinking this before I read the description, so first tastes were a bit of a shock. Once I read the label, I realized exactly what I was drinking. This is quite a nice brew. Wet hopped, bottle conditioned with saison yeast, giving it a pretty unique character. Hop profile is very flavorful and enjoyable, slight tartness from the yeast, and a nice malt backbone for some balance. Mouthfeel is slightly slick and finishes slightly dry and bitter. Very nice.

Cask, Leicester 2010 (Halcyon Green Hop Vintage- ’only 20 casks brewed and aged with green hops’ according to festival programme). Innocuous gold looks with a decent thin slick. Pure, fresh-squeezed hop aroma crackling with breakfast juice, the flesh of just-peeled oranges and human sweat. THAT is hoppy. Follows on well with the hop bines strangling the alcohol; huge bitterness, half time oranges, dense grass of the kind you could only cut with a machete, unidentified confectionary. Big and fresh, if a little hot. A nip is enough 12 beers in with a bus to run for.
