| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Feb 11, 2010 Gold body with a poofy white head. Despite being categorized as an APA, the hop aroma bespeaks a German or check origin with possible flecks of Halltertau, Tettnanger, and Saaz. The flavor similarly does not have the floral or citrusy character of an APA, with more of a muted, European noble hop flavor with grassy influences. Light crystal malt backbone and some corn syrup sweetness on the finish. badlizard (2550), Berkeley, California, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 16, 2009 Bottle: Golden, subtle haze and sediment, moderate frothy white head, spotty lacing. Sweet straw/hay on the nose, subtle honey. Sweet grainy malt flavor. Some honey, little to no hop bite. Almost more in common with an Amber Ale. Moderate body and mouthfeel. Finishes with a soft citrus sweetness, a little zesty, some honey, with lingering malts. Decent, easy drinking but could use a smidgen more hop character.

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 8, 2009 This one gave up a clear and light copper coloured body beneath a head that nearly wasn’t. The aroma was lightly hopped and also a little bit floral, quite gentle and pleasing to the nose but nothing memorable. The taste was nice and refreshing, with a good balance of hop and malt, and with a slight bitterness. Good mouth complemented the good finish. Another nice beer from Mac’s, and one that I could easily drink a fair few of at a sitting. leems (150), Portland, Oregon, USA
