Does taste a bit watered down but still has a decent flavor. Seems like a good summer beer. yesyouam (652), Fairport, New York, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 9, 2007 Big Sky Summer Honey is a crystal-clear, lively light golden ale with an off-white head that mostly dissipates and leaves good lacing. The first aroma that strikes me is... pizza dough (?!?), followed by honey and cane syrup and a hint of spruce. That yeast is too loud, otherwise it’s excellent. It is medium bodied and soft, lively on the tongue, and it leaves the mouth raw and oily. It’s hella bitter. The flavor balance is excellent (a bit top-heavy). The yeast is in balance here and has a great Western US flavor. The blue spruce aftertaste reminds me of big country. It’s fruity and bready-- a rowdy western session ale! | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 13, 2009 12 oz bottle. Pours a clear yellow with a smallish white head that quickly goes to a thin film.
The aroma is sweet clove honey and some spices.
The flavor is sweet bready malts and a bit of honey with some subdued spicing. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with good carbonation.
Overall, a decent slightly plain summer beer. jetzler (622), oklahoma city, Oklahoma, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 10/20 | Jul 6, 2008 Bottle, pours a golden clear color with a white head similar to most BMC’s nice straw and medium malt notes. A bit bigger and more malty than I had anticipated, i was thinking Full Sail Session, but this is much more dry and bodied than that. Mostly dry in terms of flavor its ok but not sessionable. sethdude (615), St. Louis, Missouri, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 20, 2009 POurs gold with lots of carbonation but a small head. Aroma is sweet, faint grainy malts, very light o9range zest underneath. Flavor is bright, sweet fruity notes blend well with caramel and toast on the front end, fading to a dry, balanced finish with lots of toasty notes. Not overly sweet, which I feared it would be. Also the best Big Sky Brewery beer I’ve had maybe with the exception of Scape Goat. I would buy this again anyday of the week. I like honey brews and this was one the shit. Smooth and tasty. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 25, 2009 Pours transparent golden color with thin white head that dissipates to a rim lace after a few minutes. Nose is lemon-lime citrus, with a slight touch of vanilla icing. Clean & fresh.
Palate is light to medium, with some herbal qualities that make me think of Kolsch, and some balancing honey sweet flavors in the middle. Toasty malt is present. Finish is herbal and somewhat dry.
Very refreshing and a great summer alternative to the usual weissbier or kolsch.
