Bottle. There’s a slight orange malt sweetness that goes really well with the big hoppy bitterness of this ale. The aftertaste is pleasantly piney and bitter.

Review from July 2009. Mild copper and a bit of red for colour with the slightest of haze, a small tan bubbly head that flattens out and some messy lacing. Tons of hops on the nose, of course: thick and sweet, sweet grapefruit... peaches first actually, sweet lemon, a solid malt base. Mmmmm so much peachy fun! At the very end of the sweetness is a leafy aroma, slight but noticeable spice tags along like a lamprey on a shark - small and almost unnoticable but always hanging around. Tasting the malts first. Caramel (it’s sweetness melts into subdued peaches and unsweetened grapefruit that is not powerful enough to make you suffer a good suffering), leaf, something that borders on earthy, slightly tart finish with perfect length bitterness with a malt softness. This sure made me drool early on. Finishes..... average.

clean fresh hoppy sweet crisp tasty floral leafy refrshing subtle not over powering . Found the bottle in Globe AZ. been looking for it for a few weeks. enjoyed this IPA tremendously. Not a HUGE fan of IPAs but was very impressed with the harvest.

Aug, 2009 GBBF. Sweet and hoppy. Dripping with honey sweetness, enriched with tobacco spice. A bold beer - clean, yet fresh and vigorous - and not too aggressive. Nettle burn in the finish. [3.0] Nov, 2009 The Rake, Southwark. Kook’s crawl. New car and vanilla aroma. Too sweet and too hoppy. Crude and unrewarding.

Bottle: Pours a very seductive hazy golden orange with a finger of creamy beige head. Really a delicious IPA appearance. Sweet aroma is sugary, caramel, and citrus. Big mouthful of sweet and syrupy hops and caramel malt. Again, I get this sugary sweet sensation with plenty of citrus and caramel. Lingering hoppy finish is more floral than anything. Very solid IPA.

Bottle:   Fiery amber in color, large frothy off-white head, globs of lacing, very soft carbonation.   Vibrant hop nose, very minor earthy accents.   Smells pretty damn good.   Hoppy on the tongue, very soft barnish malts, a little cereal, otherwise a nice hop presense lingers from start to finish.   Not as crisp as others I have had, but quite robust and flavorul without any big flaws.   Moderate to full body and mouthfeel.   As this one finishes I am reminded that I think I am enjoying this more moreso than most.   Not at the top of my list, but one of the better IPAs out there in that it does have some malt backing.   I’d hit it again, thats for sure.

Amber golden. Head of big yellow-white bubbles that dissipates quickly. Nose dominated by floral hops. Mild hoppy flavor, not at all overpowering. Elegant and lively carbonation. Firm tasteful bitterness balanced by caramel malt sweetness and an ice-tea-like astringency. A very fine IPA.

Enjoy on tap in a pub glass. The beer pours a nice medium to slightly dark orange color, with a small but relatively ample white head. The nose it initially a bit slight, but then opens up to show some interesting citrusy hop notes that are different in character from American and European offerings, and that are quite pleasing. The palate is fairly hop-forward, giving bitterness up front and on the back end finish, and showing flavors of orange zest with a touch of malt sweetness. The finish is semi-dry and clean. Overall, a cool idea and a well-executed beer.
