Commercial Description:
Corruption, Greed, and Lust. They're all represented on the hooks of today. Tomorrow, they'll be stinging Gluttony, Desire, and Sloth. Go ahead. Tell yourself you're better than all of them. But you can't. Hell can be funny like that. Down here it's all just sin. Everyone here is screwed just like you. They don't care who you sliced, diced, or cheated. No on is escaping this heinous place. Your roommate is an ax murderer. Eerily, he's not threatening. How can he be? Here, the Fallen Angel owns your body, mind and soul. As such, no one can take your life. It's already been taken. Or was it given? Neither matters. Did you seriously think you were living a virtuous life. At least Satan serves beer in Hell. He brews it himself right there in that flame stoked cauldron. Rumor has it the beer is straw yellow, bone dry and simply labeled Inferno.

Bottle from snojerk. Hazy yellow color with the spare bubble that travels up the glass. Decent white heat that dissipates quickly and leaves a nice lace. Flavor is straw and grass with a sweet finish. Finish is a bit quick too and dry from a well carbonated beer. A bit of orange citrus flavors in there and some peppery spice. Spicy cinnamon aroma. Getting some wild yeast and earth as well.

Hazy light amber pour with a thick creamy head that sticks to everything. Nice aroma of citrus, apples, peaches, pepper, spice, alcohol and yeast. It’s got it all! Flavor is similar, but not quite as good or complex as the aroma. Slightly sweet, slightly spicy, slight alcohol kick. Smooth and creamy on the palate. Very nice.

750 mL bottle courtesy of kiefdog. Is it a Tripel, Is it a Saison? Who know? This beer has a bit of an identity crisis on its hands. It pours straw blonde with a a foamy/ pillowy head. The aroma is very tripel-like with honey, caramel, apple, and straw. The flavor is too with some peppery saison qualities. A honey tripel meets a peppery saison with notes of tart citrus. Interesting.

Bottle. Poured hazy light gold with fizzy layer of white head. Similar to a Belgian golden, I guess. Nice yeast and citrus, bit of pepper, great dry finish. Not overly complex, but in a good way. Imminently drinkable.

Sample at J Gumbos Aug 2008 Indy tasting - Aroma is spicy yeast, alcohol, citrus and pale malts. Flavor matches with a little more fruit and less alcohol. Palate is creamy, tart and thin. OK, but not something I would actively seek out.

Hazy, pale, thin creamy head. Spicy honied aroma with marshmallow and wheat. Sugary with lemon and spices I can’t put my finger on and a slightly dirty finish. Not bad.

Bottle. Pale orange pour with some white head. Aroma is light bubblegum, belgian spices, some pale belgian malt and a little richer malt as well. Flavor is similar, citrusy though also, sweet and light bubblegum, but offset by spices with a sort of grassy finish.

750 ml bottle from Binnys South Loop (Chicago, IL) that I have been holding onto for awhile, since Lost Abbey started being available in Chicago. Pours a nice hazy golden straw, bright and lively, with good carbonation, moderate head that begins to die to a small amount, light lacing. Aromas are apparent quickly with light Belgian yeasts, a touch of citrusy and banana fruits, apple, subtle spice, and graininess. Initial is straight forward at first, bitterness moves into a nice Belgian Golden Ale-type with yeasty notes, apple, light spice, graininess, and a touch of citrus. Almost develops into a creamy sweetness as the body, not heavy, but heavier than expected, envelopes the palate, but leaves little in the way of aftertaste. Finish is a creamy subtle sweetness, light fruit, and a decent bitterness that was a bit surprising. This drinks much lighter than an 8.5% brew, which works as an advantage and a disadvantage for this brew. It was ok, overall.
