Bottle. Pours a ruby-hued clear brown body with a small off-white head. Nose is raisins, almonds, caramel, dark malts and hints of white sugar and sweet esters. Taste is caramel, raisins, rum, brown sugars, hints of nuts. Taste is sweet raisins, caramel, raisins and hints of brown sugar, dark malts and rum. Medium to full body, medium carbonation. Sweet, but not too bad.

Bottle from Tesco, Gateshead. An extremely dark mahogany-ruby-almost black coloured beer with a strong burnt toffee flavour, rich red currants and liquorice on the finish. Excellent!

Appearance: Dark copper with red highlights. Very thin head.
Flavour: Licorice, woody, vanilla, medium bitterness. very dry finish. Fruity, cherry, port, Medium sweetness, Rich malt, bready, toasty, slight roasty. Dark malt bitterness.
Mouthfeel: very dry finish. Medium-full body. medium creamy carbonation.
Overall: Highly enjoyable. A lower alcohol old ale with all the flavours and

50 cl. bottle poured in to a Snifter. Clear, dark red-amber with a lightly tanned dense, creamy head. Sweet aroma with toasted malts, caramel, bread, light nuts, light oak - vanilla, plums and dark dried fruits, Taste is sweet. Medium body with a creamy texture and a soft carbonation. Finishes drying and fruity with a slight wooden note. Lovely beer - let it breathe and warm up in the glass for a while before drinking.

Dark brown with a little reddish tone. Small quickly dissolving head. The taste is malty with roasty caramel an toffee flavour. Nice beer and quite unique brewing process.

Bottle from European Secret Santa. Thanks! Beautiful dark red/brown colour, beige foam. Medium carbonation. Fruity malty taste with lots of caramel and some brown sugar. Light bitter finish. Decent.

Bottle as "Strong Suffolk Dark Ale". Pours clear brown with a diminishing tan medium head. Aroma is burnt caramel, bread, nuts, butter, estery, candy, toffee, metals and oak. Taste is light+ sweet and bitter. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. Finishes sweet with oak.
