2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 puboflyons (781) - New Hampshire, USA - SEP 8, 2010
From the 330 ml. green bottle no. L186J-14:18. The pour is a highly carbonated straw yellow with a two-inch or so fizzy white head that dissolves about 90% and leaves a bit of clinging lacing. The aroma is full of grain and malts with a sharp pilsener-like taste that emphasizes the grains and malts. Nothing overwhelming.

Thanks to bu11zeye for sharing this beer.
The beer pours a yellow color with a white head. The aroma is strongly skunky with nothing else coming through. There is clearly something wrong with the beer, but if the brewer chooses to use green bottles, they deserve the bad reviews when the green bottle causes skunking. The flavor is not as skunky and I get some grain and corn. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Disappointing.

Very pale gold - probably the palest o’fest I’ve hide aside from Weihenstephaner’s - sweet aroma of honeyed pale malts with some spicy hops behind them - in some respects, the aroma and flavor profile are almost like a heller bock - sweet but light, with medium crispness and bitterness through the middle and finish - some faint alcohol on the tail end is a bit unwelcome - otherwise a fairly quaffable festbier.

not a bad beer, a little light for my tastes for an octoberfest. light color, light aroma, light flavor, etc. some nice buttery notes but not sickly sweet like some octoberfests can be, enjoyable but not memorable.

12 oz. bottle pours an unnatural butter-yellow color with dense, pillowy head. Moderate retention, no lacing. Aroma is of grass and hay with malt. Weak palate with middle of malt and a bitter, skunky, almost sour finish. The wheat-like aftertaste is the most pleasant feature.

Poured a pale light yellow. Carbonation is very visible. Nose is malty with grass notes. I found the taste to be crisp but bland. Slightly bitter in the finish with the malts coming through.also has a hint of caramel in the finish. This was cold and fresh and refreshing on a hot summer day. Drinkable and for sure sessionable.

Bottle.
A - Light clear gold with a fairly large, foamy, cloud-like, white head. Pretty good retention with a thin, foamy layer of lace left.
S - Pale malt with some bready flavors. Also good amount of grainy aroma. Hints of some grassy hops, but not much. Some mineral type aroma and a good amount of sulfur/skunky aroma.
T - Similar to the nose. A lot of sweet pale malt with some cracker/bread malt taste. Pretty sweet. Sulfur and skunky flavors are also fairly present. Very faint hop presence. Finishes with a touch more hop flavor and a bit of a mineral taste as well.
M - Lighter body with a good amount of carbonation. Somewhat crisp, but a little thin and watery.
D - Not too bad to drink, but it doesn’t inspire me to drink more. Easy to drink, and not very offensive lighter beer.
Notes: Definitely not a Märzen. For what it is, it is average at best. Not really that great, and really it is just a lower end German Pilsner. Green bottle no doubt lead to the slightly skunked taste.

medium brown with an orange hint, malty nose from the munich. appropriate carbonation for the style. mild bitterenss before a lot of munich malt giving a nice malt flavor, however the beer becomes lost with a slight roasty note that is unusual for the style and muddled finish that leaves a cloying taste
