Commercial Description:
Cherry saison is concurrent with the best of summer weather. The days are long and warm, and the spring blossoms have gracefully turned to plump drupes. Much in the same way, our Imperial Cherry Saison undergoes subtle but noticable changes while cruising from kettle to bright tank. Like the sun ripening fruit, a pit stop makes this beer better. Cherry Saison is aged with French Oak staves, imparting overtones of spice and balancing the natural sweetness of the cherries. Cherry Saison is the first in this series to incorporate oak aging. Enjoy it as a dessert beer, or tilt it back while sitting under a shady tree on a warm summer afternoon.

(bottle) gold with generous head. Aroma was oak, some spice. Flavor was predominently oak, saison spice - I didn’t notice much of the cherry.

27th December 2008. Hazy gold beer. Not much head. Dry and crisp and with a nice sourish aromatic malt. Just a measured amount of unsweet cherry. Light and refreshing.

Bottle, bought @ Ølbutikken, Cph.
Pours hazy golden-yellow. Small creamy, yellowish head. Aroma has clear cherries, malts, almonds. Prickly carbonation, okay mouthfeel. Flavour has lemons, tartish cherry, soft oakiness. Rather dry, but there is not much Saison to it. Like marzipan with red fruit-clouring added. Not really my thing.

Bottled. Murky golden coloured. Small off white head. Aroma of earth, light barnyard, cherries, light spice and marzipan. Flavour of cherries, grape, light earth, light spice. Medium bodied. Dry sweet and fruity spiced end with a tarty touch. A bit too sweet and fruity for my likings.

Pours golden with a moderate white head that fell pretty quickly. Has a yeasty, spicy aroma with a bit of fruitiness. Flavor is slightly woody and fruity, with yeast still dominant, along with a bit of lemony sourness. Not terribly complex, with what complexity there is just not meshing well. I’m not terribly impressed with this, but it’s drinkable.
